Prefer 1 o clock side (right handed shooter) tape switch forward top rail with the permanent on button facing to the rear.

Have a canted BCM mlock mount to tuck it up and in a bit closer for my 11.5 upper. Once the can arrives I'll have to mess with it to see how much shadow it casts.

Little bit of oil rubbed on on the lens and muzzle blast wipes right off.
Just to be clear, when you’re looking at the target the light is on the right side? I attach a sling on the left side so it’s closer to the body

I should add if you go with something like that bcm mount it will pull the light up closer to the top rail and your front sight like so

Bottom gun
Bottom gun is also how I run the switch

Excellent visuals. I’ll need to find a place that has that mount in stock, any particular reason you run the tape switch “backwards”, ergonomics?

edit: found one

Ergo mostly easier to toggle the temporary on function of the light while maintaining a positive forward grip

Also the mount you linked is keymod and the rail in the pic you posted is mlok

I run mine the same way;

Arisaka offset mount at 1:00 and lens just behind the first brake baffle. Once I get a can I’ll probably push it forward another pic slot.

I like having the constant on/off button at the “back” since my hand naturally rests where the momentary on pressure pad is and I’ll most likely only need light for short intervals.

Check your local shops i couldn't find one online and went into my gun club and they had a couple in stock(since sold out) there's other similar mounts out there too magpul etc etc. I just went 100% bcm on this build

Yeah I ordered the magpul one for now. If I’m not satisfied then I’ll order a BCM
