And my 4runner probably weighs more than your Tacoma, and it stops just fine with stock brakes.

Stop being a prissy bitch. You could have done the 5th gen 4runner front brake upgrade and been done already with parts that you can get from AutoZone.
Tbh, the Stoptech shit is da bomb. It almost makes my heavy bish slow down when I stand on the peddle.
Edit: 6342 curb weight with full fuel

Yeah, but the 5th gen upgrade is essentially the same big brake kit. It's a larger rotor and better caliper. Costs about the same too when you start pricing it out, but parts are readily available at any auto parts store.

This is true but there are plans. It's ah...pardon the pun, a stop-gap till the rear blows up. It is getting replaced with a full floater currie and wilwoods all around. We're far from done.

stoptech brakes are stuck either on a ship, in port or who knows where. Truck has new ceramic pads with cross drilled slotted rotors with ss lines. it stops but not as good as it should.
My brother was saying brakes are going to be going up in price and supply is going to be getting quite a bit shittier coming this August. Sounds like you are dealing with that supply chain issue right now. He was saying between many manufacturers having issues getting materials, and many other manufacturers getting bought up or going under, the brake industry is going to be getting hit hard.

Dont get me started on parts delays. My worst one is DEF sending units for Cummins. I usually wait 2 months on average to get them and they have to be ordered to a vin on emergency, truck down basis with them.

When you do the math on the position area, it is marginally bigger than the OEM brakes. and by marginally it was like 0.1 to 0.2" more square inches. Great use of $1,800... If I'm dropping that much on brakes, it better be exceptionally better.

I've been spoiled by very good brakes and going back to the truck after driving a super expensive beetle for awhile, it felt like someone swapped soapy sponges for the pads. Drum brakes just anger me and if they got replaced before I bought the truck new, It'd still be too soon.

Dollars to smiles, it makes a lot of sense, dollars to reality...we all know it nevers adds up. lol
