Dad passed away and I am bringing his M1 carbine back. Story has it that it's still got a live round stuck in it. Do I pull over mid desert and use a hammer to cycle the action or bring back to a gunsmith?
My condolences. I am a do it your self kind of guy. I would cycle the action a dozen times. Check if it has a primer strike. If it does it was a dud. I would try prying it from the back without causing damage before I would try to tap it out. Poor Hoopies 9 down the barrel and let it sit. It should break up all the carbon and brass oxidation. Keep us posted. Ps that is one special piece of hardware.

Wish I could get the action open. I wouldn't be scared if that was the case. May have to kick start it but find a way to do it safely pointing away from the face

13 firearms and thousands of rounds of freedom seeds all packed up and headed to the lake for a fishing trip. Wish me luck the boat doesn't sink
:useless:

3rd bout of cancer finally took its toll I think. Round has been in there for probably 20 years by now

Sorry to hear man! Sucks!

20yrs, shit! That's great!

My dad found out and said fuck it! Lost him in less than a year.

Find it easier to pull the bed off than to drop tanks. 4-6 bolts and a couple buddies to lift it and shimmy back far enough to get to the pump
I considered it, but this truck had a bed liner and I figured it wouldn’t be too tough to drop. Getting to the connections on top of the fuel pump is definitely the shittiest part of the job. Having the bed lifted would have made the whole thing a hell of a lot easier!

First of five exams completed for my DRE Brokers License courses. 4 more to go before I can apply for my state test. About 16-18 hours of studying for the first course so far. Shit sucks. I don't know how people go to school for years and just study all the time.
A lot of cramming and energy drinks :anon:
