That’s pretty much wrong but for full mall cred they are required. Proper bypass setup of the bump zone and you can survive with a small rubber bump stop.
Pretty much was busting balls....
But having hydros means you can tune the bypasses to handle everything but the bump zone and let the hydros take over at that point?
Or am I completely clueless?

I'll have to see what my bank account looks like after a 1000+ mile road trip in the car next week and paying my taxes. If I can swing a set of hydros I might go for it.

I’m just spewing what a 30 year luxury prerunner fab shop says. Properly tuned shocks should handle that work. And the rubber bump for the big hits you didn’t see. Hydro are just a little bit of extra security. Sadly on our trucks you get into the hydro bumps too quickly on the front with it mounted to the frame bumping off the inboard part of the LCA.
Full Disclosure….I have hydro in all 4 corners though I did shorten the front to 1 inch

So if I buy hydros for the front I should knock them down to a 1"? Or was that because of how you mounted yours?

I was using wheelers bumps on that kit you have. But I’d do 1 inch bumps on any tacoma bumping off the LCA.
If you are having rough bottom outs either revalve or quit driving in shit that more than your suspension can handle. With this new kit I have I can figure it out pretty quickly when I’m pushing it too far.

With the bumps mounted close to the LCA pivot I can definitely see the need to shorten them or else damn near half of the travel is compressing it.

Hmmm. I'm going to have to think this one over. I already have to relocate my soft brake line bracket because the line ends up against the secondary body. Probably pick up stainless lines for it while I'm at it just in case. Hydro is gonna be a tight fit.

Pisser is I've missed most of desert season in the runner because of one issue or another. Still wanna go out one last time in April, but maybe I'll just throw the suspension on the Tacoma for that trip and concentrate on getting the runner dialed in for next year.

Desert season is fine on a mostly stock truck
