The hard part is done. I messed up and put my very first biscuit slots on the wrong side of the board. Must be some sort of rite of passage for the first time you use an alien tool. Thankfully I can put it on the inside of the cabinet that will be covered with other pieces.View attachment 78452View attachment 78453View attachment 78454View attachment 78455View attachment 78456
That's a lot of parts to keep track of.
Cabinet makers have some tricks to keep shit straight but mistakes still happen.
If that's your biggest goof of that project you did well. Don't sweat it

That's absolutely a rite of passage with a biscuit joiner.

Nice work though.

That’s quite the accomplishment. That blade is covered pretty well. Must have taken to pretty good acrobatics to do that.
Just putting a slot into a tread nosing. So basically a small light piece that decided to move allowing my fingers to contact the blade.
I made a jig for doing it safely the next day.

Still drunk from the night before or from whatever you had with your breakfast? Not sure which is worse really
Nah. Would start drinking after lunch.
Home shop where I built my stairs.
By 7pm I was usually pretty knackered..
Neighbor was over and we were bs-ing while I worked. He freaked out a bit when it happened.

Torn between that and the Bosch. But I'm already going down Makita Lane, so... Oh, that's the 40V one? Cool.
I have owned almost every brand of miter saw. This one is absolutely one of the smoothest as far as slide and head drop. I only made a few cuts to check accuracy of bevel and miter. Once I get it on the job I will get a better feel for it.
And I am 90% cordless at this point and heading for 100%. Fuck cords.

Straight from J A Pan....
Luckily I don't read manuals cuz this one full of funny symbols.
Uses a 10-1/4" blade with a 1" arbor so I don't have to get blades from the EU or Australia.
This same model number in those markets use a 270mm x 30mm blade.

Guide rail compatible base. First use is tomorrow!!
