Welp, runner drives good and straight still. I took the bypasses off because I don't have time to clearance and desert season is calling. Also still need limit strap tabs welded on because my coilovers bottom out before the bypasses do. So there's no point in tuning until I get that settled. Ended up using .75" spacers to clear the hoops with no other rubbing. Got something rattling in the engine bay based on a trip to the grocery store, but I'm guess I left some tools in there. Will find out when it stops raining.

Superstition this year anyone?

Damn when is that? I'm already taking time off for KOH. Probably gonna flake on my camping trip this weekend because I don't feel the runner is up to snuff but I need one or two trips in before KOH to make sure I've worked the kinks out.

Working and I need to figure out what the fuck is making noise in the front end when I come to a stop. Could be normal that I just haven't heard in awhile, but it sounds new. Still need to do a bolt check and grease on the rear end. Damned close to dirt though, even if it doesn't include the bypasses yet.

Ran Old Fearless up in Adelanto on Monday

Went with a couple of guys from the off Road Rookies group on FB: Alex in a 97 LC80, Felix in some sort of jeep.

The trail is fully documented on All Trails and was a pretty basic run, couple of short steep climbs and descents, a few tight sections with hairpin turns and pinch points - nothing a 4rumner can't do.

It was a fun run, typical high desert terrain run best between December and May to avoid the heat and dust. I'm glad we didn't have to pay the $15 per vehicle day use fee - federal holiday and all.
