This is when I got it. Picked it up at auction for a decent price. It had a single owner all of its life in Sparks, Nevada and I was glad to bring her back to proper form.

Removed the bumper, fender, headlights, grill to see the carnage to the fender wall. There wasn't too much damage, looked like I needed new headlights, grill, radiator, radiator support, fender, fender lining, hood, and plate bumper.

Overall the runner was in decent condition

Finally bought the air raid intake pipe to do away with the OEM intake silencer.
From the research I have done, it just adds more engine noise and perhaps better throttle response, but no actual horsepower. I was fine with that.

Very simple install, but can require some force to get it into place if you have a body lift like I do. Once you have a body lift your engine drops the amount your body is lifted so the intake doesn't have perfect alignment.

Couple weekends back(Summer 2018) I ended up swapping my rear axle for an elocked axle from another 3rd gen 4runner with the help of my brother and Timmy the Toolman. I also ended up swapping the front diff to match the gearing in the rear axle. I will re-gear at some point in the future, but I didn't want to be out $1500 for the re-gear right now.

here is the video on how to do the axle swap and the wiring

picked up the complete elocked rear axle for $550 with the locker ECU, ECU pigtail, switch, switch pigtail.

Sold my open diff rear axle for $250

Trailer wire 16 gauge 6 conductor cost me about $25 for 15 feet

Paint for the axle was another $20 and I replaced the axle seals while I had it open, decided against doing bearings for now.

It was wired up to the OEM switch and ECU so it works like OEM, the dash will blink when the locker is trying to engage and then it stays solid when its engaged.

Bonus: the switch is lit when any of the other cluster lights are on(this was a factory option in Tacomas, but didn't exist in the 4runners for some reason) just needed to add two wires/pins to the switch itself. Instructions in the video.

Link for when the wiring starts

Spent the previous weekend installing the cb radio.
-Cobra 19 DX IV
-firestik premium 18’ coax
-firestik 4’ antenna
-custom made mount(I wouldn’t build another one, just buy MStudt antenna mount, it’s cleaner and you don’t have to do all the measuring and cutting/bending.

Went wheeling couple weekends and caught the exhaust on a dirt wall and it bent. I was already planning to chop it down so now it was a must.

I’ve been thinking about doing the amber corners. They turned out good! How many coats is that? I think I’d probably go a bit darker myself.

I did 5 thin coats, I was pleasantly surprised after removing the painters tape from the stock orange reflector that it matched pretty closely.

Nice looking 4Runner man. Glad you brought this Toyota back from a rough mid life crisis. I dig those square projector retrofits. I have some retrofits that I need to put together. I am sure that it will be better with much better usable, aimable light.

A good amount has changed since February, I modified an addicted offroad crossmember to make it tuck closer to the radiator support, it’s also welded onto my runner instead of bolted, and mounted @xplore.offroad hybrid bumper. I also took out the fog lights addicted provided and installed some squadron pros from Baja.
