I spent 11.5 hrs with my friend trying to wash/clay/compound/polish and then wax out 3 years of Arizona Pinstriping on my 2012 Taco. Unsuccessfully for the larger deeper scratches so now to research for a more abrasive compound. Looking to get one of the two 3d compounds since their One version did an amazing job just not strong enough for Arizona. Used a product to dye my ARB fog lights/rubber mirrors, and door handles back to black permanently which worked awesome now to put some 303 UV protectant on them. Tried a spray SIO2 wax until we can correct the paint enough to do a Ceramic coating. Used an Iron Remover on the wheels which worked amazingly except used a lot of product, it neutralizes the iron and turns purple and then basically melted off all the brake dust.. just a pressure washer was needed to spray it clean without DA orbital shit the bed and launched the whole buffer off and almost took off the head of a bystander, so had to go buy another orbital to finish up. That sucked. Oh yeah still can't get the Playa off plastic and rubber from Burning man in 2017.. ugh.. Magic Eraser did work on some of the plastic with a detailer spray. need to scrub some more scrubbing.signal-2020-01-11-200504.jpegsignal-2020-01-11-200631.jpegsignal-2020-01-11-200759.jpegsignal-2020-01-11-200806.jpegsignal-2020-01-11-200815.jpegsignal-2020-01-11-201008.jpegsignal-attachment-2020-01-11-203044_001.jpegsignal-attachment-2020-01-11-203044_002.jpeg

Just bought new shoes for the taco from Discount and had them match Walmarts price and cheaper mounting and warranty. Going to test out these cheap tires versus the Toyo I had before. So far much quieter and softer sidewall plus must be lighter and they are .6" shorter so transmission is much happier than my prior 255/85/16 33.6" Toyo MT. Went down to 285/75/16 aka 33". Tires are on sale for $137 each versus $155 thanks walmart/amazon. Next mod is 4.88 gears and front locker.81626200_10218595568393451_2111660966461571072_o.jpg82063447_10218595568633457_1597564801448411136_o.jpg

I’ve used McGuire’s m105 cutting compound. Be careful because you’ve got single stage paint

I have that size tire and 4.88s. It drives like a go kart. Acceleration is fun and sucks gas like mad.

Thanks for the information that explains the peeling off the paint on my roof down to the grey primer (So angry). Yeah the 3D One I was using only went down to 1500 grit and I didn't have a wool cutting pad so just used orange cutting pad. The goal is to get the pin-stripping as minimized as possible and then ceramic coat it to protect the base paint. And layer on top of that. or will I still be getting pinstripes on the ceramic layer? I'm all ears to suggestions Thanks!

Yeah with my 255/55/16 pizza cutters and 33.6" and stock gears my truck was a dog, and couldn't hold top gear on the highway and therefor made my gas mileage go down to 10.8mpg going up to flag versus 14.5-15.5 mpg. So I really should have done gears years ago except they are so damn expensive.

Ouch. If you’re willing to try spraying https://www.automotivetouchup.com/ sells the best match in a can

For the most part I’ve given up on my paint so it’s wash, buff once in a while and then black wax. It’ll look ok for 30 min and then the dust settles in :headwall:

Luckily the only paint is missing in the roof tracks, so I'll cover that up once I put the roof rack on and the rubber strip.

Yeah black paint is Brutal for dust/pinstriping.... IMG_1716.jpg
