Where's the best California burrito found in SD? (Oceanside -> Imperial Beach)
I'm only really familiar with O'side (native) with the surrounding areas... ehhh, they're just there for all I ever cared. Although we biked all over Carlsbad, Vista, Bonsall (not that deep into though)... even road our bikes to La Jolla (that mountain is a BITCH!!! HAHAHAHAH).
Anyways, for O'side, there's an Alberto's on Coast Hwy (a.k.a. Hill Street for the OG's that know it by that name) and there is and/or used to be a Roberto's #13 (there's actually a bit of history with the "old location" where the CVS is now, but anyways...). The Roberto's, if it is still there, is located on the corner of Coast Hwy and Oceanside Blvd in the same shopping center as the Autozone. Again, it's been a year or so, but I don't see why it wouldn't still be there?
Either case, both Alberto's and Roberto's are just BOMB. I like my Bean & Cheese burritos, for example, made a certain way, likely because I grew up on Roberto's mostly. I used to have a fairly big paper route when I was a kid and would spend my money on getting my burritos there and then go to my friend's house and play some D&D all night over the weekends.
But yeah, if you ever get the chance try those places.
Also, if you've never heard of them, you MUST TRY Angelo's Burgers. They make really good 1/4# cheeseburgers and/or Gyros, etc etc etc. There should be an Angelo's still near the Oceanside Bridge as you come off the freeway going south. As a matter of fact, you will pass the "Gentleman's Club" as you go south on Coast Hwy. Not too far past the club, to the left is Alberto's and near there on the right-hand side is Angelo's. There is also an Angelo's on Coast Hwy (i.e. it is right across the street from Discount Tire Co. store #17, which is where I first started busting tires) about a block before you get to Oceanside Blvd.
Anyways...
