Gluelam is coming out. Steel beam going in. The issue is the overkill on the posts.
Already had to plate the beams in the basement. 1/2" flitch with 5/8" grade 5 bolts staggered every foot. Original architect really fucked up. Every damn point load ends on a beam.

Have you asked him to recalc it with the 1/4" and with engineered wood? I had something similar for posts was last year. The engineer had 3 steel posts on a gable wall to carry 3 GLB's. The steel was going to take over a month to have made. We asked the engineer to calc it with EWC's(engineered wood columns). He got back to us and we where able to use 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 EWC's for it instead. We had those in 3 days.

It's worth asking nicely. Whenever you try and argue those guys it never goes well. I always try and make them think it was their idea in the end. That way they can pat themselves on the shoulder and I can keep moving forward.

Yes
People make websites as an income source.
It’s not opinion, it’s fact.
The amount of info they decided to share with you doesn’t mean he isn’t making money.
the dollar amount being large or small, irrelevant.
he didn’t get into creating these sites just because he wanted a cool place for people to hang out.

I can respect that.

But I have some news.

I do some pretty sketchy "crawling" myself. Nah, ain't been to a mall since my 20s.

But I get my sad lil 3rd gen up trails it has no business being on. And... I do so on 4play hwy tires. For the challenge! (Lack of funds)

I do tho. I offroad pretty hard on hwy tires.

I'm a cuck from future cuckington.

Also posting pics of offroad adventures on hwy tires really ruffles a crows feathers.

It's why I do anything really. For the lulz and entertainment.

What I'm saying is, I get what you mean. No fucks, have fun, be who tf you are and give the haters a selfie of you flipping them off via text.

If they say, "who dis?" Just resend the same message.

TLDR
- tangent:hwy tires will get me stranded one day, but funny to me.

Oh there's plenty of mall crawlers on this site. I've been a fireroad queen for the past year because I was living off unemployment, severance pay, and the uncertainty of a regular full time paycheck.

60 more days of probation before it's harder to fire me and I can fuck off in the rocks again more often.

No way is he going to put wood beams under a steel beam.
He is just over doing it. First plan was to use 4x4x1/4 because he mistakenly thought the walls were 2x6. The minute I mentioned 3-1/2" columns he jumped right to 3/8" wall. It is simply fucking ridiculous.
I am tempted to send him my calcs and to have him correct any errors.

I was a temp at my current place since December. They hired me on permanently as of June 29th. I took a major pay cut as a temp, but they made up for it when they hired me on perm. So I'm much happier now.

Yeah. That's some BS. Can you just use his original 4x4x1/4 and fir the interior wall out?

Eh
I’m using the kid as an excuse.
no time for projects, no time for extended trips away from home.

Everytime I start to catch up, my ex pulls some stupid shit and I have to drain my savings again to pay the lawyer. I'm really fucking over it. Closing in on 30k over the past 6 years. Fortunately my mom is willing to put up with my shit and I don't have to pay rent, but I'd sure like for it to stop so I can actually get my own place again someday. Not paying rent is the only thing that lets me play, and pay the lawyer.

Again. Very similar to my situation.

My current job, I had never even considered entering this feild. It just so happens, luckily enough I clicked with it immediately.

I started as a temp also. Apprentice/bitch boy.

I'm extremely lucky to have found my niche, never knowing I had such a propensity for this environment.

Ended up working my way out of temp very quickly. And making myself a permanent standard support/maintenance mechanic. Them a few months later became a lead mechanic. Now, only a year and 4 months from my start as a temp I am in charge of all the plant mechanics for equipment rebuild. And I will lead all the harvest mechanics this year.

Its nuts how lucky I got honestly. Never knew I'd love this heavy equipment mechanic, greasy dirty, hard ass work lifestyle. But it just fit me like a glove and I am lucky af!!

I'm glad things are looking up for you legit. Cuz I have been there. Disabled and have nothing. Yr after yr.

Makes the comeback kick ass and and mean a shitload more tho. Dont you think?

Like ya said. You are using the kid as an an excuse.

Throw the kid In the carseat and hit the wildlife management areas, or public 4wd areas. Give them some memories to look back on!

I don’t even know what’s open right now.
kid isn’t even a year and a half. My earliest memories are closer to 3 years old so I got time for that.
