If you can get up to Green valley lake then take crab flats a little while, there's a trail on the right that in the snow just looks like a chain link fence. It leads up to a couple fun hill climbs in the snow and dead ends before a locked gate. Cool little spot for the kids to hang out with no traffic.

I have been that way several years ago when I first got my truck together. It was very sketchy driving down the mountain on the highway with no brakes the entire way down. All gearing to stop and slow down.

That's why I live in Bishop. All the flatlanders go up to Mammoth and leave me the fuck alone.

Snow can be super fun if the conditions are good. Like this day last year. Perfect powder. The trail is the upper Buttermilk Loop. It was a fun day.

I love Bishop. I would like to do about a 5 day trip to be able to do wheeling and fishing on 1 trip.

I'll only go up the mountain on a week day when it snows. No way am I fighting the crowds.

Fishing season is over except for select spots, right?

And do you know a spot for Brown's?

The Owens is open year round. Pleasant Valley Reservoir is part of the Owens so it's also open. It's got some big browns but the end of Oct is when they are easiest to target. In 2012 a 20 lb brown was caught there. The cuttbow fishery is also REALLY good.

I camp at Pleasant Valley and fish the reservoir. Seen some good size rainbow, just no browns.

My dog loses his shit with the raccoons at Pleasant Valley. He literally salivates begging me to let him lose to fuck their night up.

How about you come up here and we finish my rig Saturday. Then Sunday we do some snow wheeling. The Whites will be perfect. Coyote Flat will be perfect. Pretty much anything above 8000 and below 10000 should be doable. Lots of white stuff coming this way.
That is really tempting... BUT that means I'd have to haul all my welding gear up there. What exactly needs to be done besides firewall? Sliders and bumper too?

Just debating if I like snow enough to drive up there haha

I finished most of the firewall tub tonight. The leaves the front of both sliders, maybe the bumper and the rear. The rear is what I'm really going to need help with. I cut way past the pinch weld. With two of us, me cutting and you burning, it won't take that long.

It's a drive but there's also 4 NAPA CV's here to help sweeten the deal. lol

I'll have to talk to Mariah. I'm sure she won't want me gone all weekend because no way I'm driving both ways in a day.
