BCM lower showed up last week at the FFL impressed with the lower and solid trigger for mil spec a little stiff out of the box but assume it will lighten up a bit when broken in. As soon as the home refi closes and I can use my bank accounts again I'll get the upper ordered.

Also ran the 16 inch Aero back at 500 yards pinging the gong with red dot only was cool.

So... .308 or 6.5 Creedmoor. Discuss

Depends on your purpose. If hunting and ammo availability are a priority go with 308. If you want to shoot out past 1k yards 6.5creed. Not that you can't hunt with 6.5creed or shoot past 1k with 308. They just do different things better.

One of the ideas I got in my head was using an AR10 for F-class shooting (F-T/R). I know it’s a square peg in a round hole but I just wanted to see if I could do it

Now I’m likely not going to shoot in competitions but still would like to go for distance and see good things about the 6.5cm. Also in the current ammogeddon there’s more 6.5 available than 308....

so that’s my thoughts. Hunting wise I have other stuff to use

Do it, right barrel and you could absolutely shoot f class with a 308 AR 10. May need to handload to get all the velocity and accuracy you can out of it but I'm sure its doable. Worst case you start with 308 and decide to jump over to 6.5creed or something else even. Just a change of the barrel and you're there as long as its the same bolt face size.

Larue ( :boltout:) Ultimate Upper with matching lower in either 6.5 or 260 rem. Same bullet different case.

Ah .260 .. probably shot my best grouping ever with that round.
Use to be the hot caliber
Then everyone started going to .243 Winchester
6.5x47L
6.5 Creedmore
6 Creedmore
6x47L

For the AR-15 platform .. Yes

I have a barrel on backorder with brownells. I need to cancel it but I actually have to call them to do that which is lame.
What’s the hotness for the AR10 platform then?
