Yeah but past there. They closed Black Mtn. in the winter these days. Used to stay open year round but then it got popular.

@madtaco461 @4runner DOA Did you guys go with me up Black mountain one time? All the way to the gate? Well, this is on the back side of Black Mountain and San Jacinto mountain. It must have dumped huge. I was up there one time and it had 4’ of snow. Must be more up there now.

Don’t know for sure. There are three gates. One at the highway, one midway, and two towards the top. There is a pretty long approach to the base of the mountain (couple miles) they usually keep the first gate open for hikers. The PCT goes through that area.

They usually keep Thomas Mtn. open, same thing with Santa Rosa mtn. Santa Rosa mtn. is down the 74 hwy. towards Palm Springs. Thomas peaks out at 6100’ or so while Santa Rosa peaks at 8700’. The actual Santa Rosa peak is on the Cahuilla reservation so no access but you can drive up to some...
