Well my girlfriend says buying tools gives me joy and I’m good at spending money on old junk I don’t need so I’m making these “hub tools” to help pay for more tools and car parts lol. Something I made for myself but ended up getting a ton of interest from people asking me to make more.
I know...
I was just thinking about this the other day. For the amount of trails I’ve done this year and just overal abuse I’ve put the truck through, I couldn’t be happier. Pretty much hit every big spot on the west coast in the last 8 months with nothing more than a leaky fitting on the transmission...
Nothing really new on the truck. Put some deaver springs under the 63 main. Did some finish aluminum work. New headlights. New grill and bumper. Mainly been using it and having fun. Trucks taken a beaten this year with lots of miles and hasn’t skipped a beat.
Went to hammers/Johnson valley thanksgiving weekend. Place was a shit show but th wheeling was cool. Guys in the group had a bunch of issues so didn’t wheel as much as I wanted.
More sand hollow wheeling. Probably 6-8 day trips so far this year plus trail hero.
Haven’t had any issues and no new body damage this year besides tire grabbing the fender and folding it back but pounded that out and have a new fender I just need to paint.
Bought some more tools. Bigger lathe (12x36), a bench top mill and a drill press to match ( all enco)
Painted my vise and cleaned it up
made center console skins
Smoke pushed us out of the rubicon a day early in fear of the fire. But 10 days, 1000 miles in the tow rig and a few hundred on the crawler with no issues.
Last time I was in this thread I was pretty set on a new f250. Well truck market went crazy. I got an insane deal for my Ram 1500 single cab and sold it and picked up a Ram 2500 6.7 diesel. Have just over 6k miles since may now with a trailer hooked to it for half of those miles. No complaints...
Get a decent all terrain tire considering your 33s. I had falken wildpeak all terrains on my last truck and had no complaints when looking at them on a tow rig/all terrian. Straight street tires blow in the smallest amount of sand.
Not sure honestly. I rotated that filing cabinet and just happened to fit there. I still have to rotate it to use it which sucks but I got a wheeled stand coming for it.
Finished a new tire carrier with a new box. Folds out so box slides open. Mounted a spare driveshaft between the frame rails and started on skins for the center console.
Anddd a new tool because tools are my drugs
