Good stuff. In Wisconsin, we probably reach that limit faster than California desert folks whose vehicles don't dissolve in <10 years.

that's the part that eludes most. one size doesn't fit all...and understanding the surrounding logic behind what's involved with manufacturing not included in the 2 minute commercial about why aluminum truck beds are better, people will actually be able to make informed decisions. I'm huge advocate for new tech, saftey and efficie...Woah new RAM has BIGGER cup holders AND a/c seats! AND THERE'S A GUBMENT EFFICIENCY REBATE??

I agree with all those points. The R1T will have a 400-mile capacity at its highest trim level (not towing, obviously). That's not too shabby. But then again, so does my 4Runner. And I can refill it in a few minutes and go another 400. Batteries don't have that luxury just yet.
That’s where I am at with electric vehicles.

With the exception of sharks and crocodilians, any one want to hazard a guess as to how many years the average species lives on this planet?
What we are currently worried about won't matter soon(on a planetary time scale).

Edit:And horseshoe crabs. I always forget about horseshoe crabs

I mean I'd rather not leave it a nuclear cesspool for my son, but I totally agree.

The Rivian configuration tool finally came out today for those with manufacturing slots. Did a quick config and it was $95K. And I wouldn't get one until June 2022. Well, that was a fun ride. Cancelled my spot in line and hopefully will get my deposit back fairly quickly. Then I can use that for sliders or a roof rack or something fun.

Yea no thanks. 2022 is too far away to wait with your money out there
