Because I know all ya'll care about what you breathe in, and also care about car/truck maintenance, figured I'd post it here (far away from your typical 'froad tech threads).
For a while I've been using those rather inexpensive EPAuto carbon infused filters, and I think they worked pretty ok blocking bad shit from coming into the cab. But... I thought I could do better than that.

So I bought way more expensive HEPA filters for wife's car and my mall crawler.

Figured that HEPA filter would be better with crearing/cleaning the air, possibly removing more of smaller particles, maybe even allergens, etc. Well, it doesn't really work that way in our case.
Just to get it out of the way , I don't have a meter to definitely determine how well each filter performs at removing particles, so this post definitely isn't going to be about scientific results.
Basically next day thwle wife started to complain about smelling exhaust fume from other vehicles waaay more, stronger, and sooner than ever before. Also started to complain about her allergies kicking in. So no more fresh air for her.... Anyways, I purchased an OEM (carbon infused) cabin filter for her car, replaced it, and it works out well for her.
In my daily driven mall crawler, I can definitely smell exhaust fumes as well as smell of sewer while driving via NJ tpk way more than previously.
Planning on changing filters again, just hoping for something better this time around.
Any thoughts?
