Nah you haven’t done anything in my truck that I can think of. My buddies on my guys trips are a bunch of dumb drunks that spill half their beers and leave half their burritos on the floor.
Gonna be yet another unpopular opinion, but fuck weathertechs.

Had them in my dodge. Fucking terrible.
I wasn’t impressed with the weather techs that my brother has in his truck.

Think I spilled in Kyle's truck once, but I've only been in yours once so I'm more than likely clear there.

:noidea: no issues. Mine fit perfectly and protect great. How many years ago was this and were they the laser fit line?
My dodge was a 95, I bought the mats in. . . Fuck. . 2014?
Not worth it. A vinyl floor setup woulda been cheaper.
Both my Ford's have had vinyl floors. Best option out there.

Actually, as a Mopar guy, I liked my OBS 7.3 more than my 2nd gen Cummins, and my 09 has been a great truck so far.

Biggest thing that's helped is my weather tech floor mats. Spilled beer, water, soda, mud, rain, whatever they've kept my carpet clean under them. My seats on the other hand are a different story. I should probably get covers some day, but in the meantime I just take the carpet cleaner to them twice a year to clean up kid spills, dust, grime, etc.

I bought new seat skins from this guy (through eBay) and they are fantastic fit and color match - I mean spot on. if you have smell/stain issues sometimes it’s the only way to go.

I bought synthetic leather because they’re waterproof and I have a Limited, but he does real leather and I’m sure he’d do a fabric or suede center (grip) version if you wanted - he’s also a bit flexible on pricing. You’d still need to consider temp covers if you have the occasional shit show going on (like some of my wife’s women’s MTB weekenders). Somehow I can travel on dirt roads with the windows down, ford creeks and run through mud past the rocker panels getting in and out all weekend and still get less inside the truck than they do on a “good” weekend.

I’d like my mall cred now...

As for carpet... any of the truck bed liner and marine products will generally be better than the standard home store DIY shop roll on rubberizers but they all do very little (some but not much) for sound/insulation as mentioned - chiefly water management.

When I had a YK I would hose the interior down pretty regularly. I took the carpet out not too long after I got it for that reason and used a roll on truck bed liner. But the heat transfer on a summer day was unbearable, like a rolling oven. I remember not being able to put my foot down on one particularly hot day.

If I did it again I’d probably try to build up foil faced Dynamat/Hushmat or similar and then top that with a semi-rigid roll/spray liner like rhino/line-x. Even better maybe order some additional sheet rubber to go down before the Dynamat. I’ve used this place to buy 2-3” rolls to separate mounted accessories from the body of my truck.

Eastwood is also supposed to make a great heat and sound barrier but at $200 gallon someone else is going to have to continue to tell me that because I’m not going to find out.

If you just decide to remove your carpet and not replace it I’d also consider adhering a few large rubber blocks to the underside of the cab (takes some investigation to figure out where) and/or inside body panels to control some of the larger vibrations and rattles you’ll uncover. I’ve done that a couple of times when pulling factory sound deadening to keep myself from going crazy with rattles - OCD.

X2 on the weathertechs, i put them in my truck and still there cause its not top priority right now but the ends are jacked up don't sit flat anymore. even tried leaving it in the desert sun to reform it and it's back to the same shit.
i bought Huskey liners for my girls truck though, and those are real nice.
