@PermaBan has left the building. Stoped in had a few beers and shot the shit. Took off before I could put some meat in his grill. He has to cover some ground to be in Austin Texas Monday morning. Safe travels brother hope to see you on the return trip.

What? He left without red meat on the 4th? That's downright un-American.

Looking at having the truck regeared. I'm running 285 tires and I 'think' 4.88's will do the trick.
Was quoted $2400 parts and labor. They remove and reinstall both diff's.
Trying to decide if I should spend the extra money and replace my e-locker with an ARB which will add about $1100 to the cost with the locker and compressor manifold I'd need. Already have the compressor installed.
I had my 3rd member replaced from a faulty e-locker after a few trips driving around on mostly solid rock surfaces with it locked and I'd think the ARB would be a ton stronger.
Thoughts?

I haven’t had issues with my e-locker, if you’re going to add just one locker why not put it on the front diff?

btw ~33s and 4.88s is like driving a go-cart. Well at least on a 2nd gen

@Placticguy had to warranty three arb’s in just over a year. He eventually shit canned arb and went with Eaton e lockers.

Is go cart good or bad? I'd like my power back at highway speeds.

AZ Differential.

Maybe I'll go big with front and rear ARB. I read of some issues but some said they are worked out now. Had no issues on my old 1st gen.

I feel like my 3rd gen never had freeway power. But I’ll say this. When I lifted the truck and put on bigger tires, the 4.88 regear got me back to where the 3rd gen started stock, but then I was running bigger tires. It was a big reason why I got rid of the Tacoma. I remember before the lift and tires, running high RPMs uphill on my way to the Grand Canyon. If you want to get back to the stock feel, the 4.88 conversion will get you there. For what it’s worth, The raptor doesn’t drag ass. Even after I added the lift and 37s. I say save the money and buy a raptor ;-)
