Just picked this up on Saturday. '05 Tundra Double Cab w/ 147k miles on it. It "won't" be getting any real mods done to it. It's 2wd, which isn't ideal but I didn't want to spend the extra on purchase price and insurance costs. It's also going to be my wife's daily driver, but I'll use it for towing the 4runner to the desert.
Only things that I'll probably do are new tires and maybe lift the front a little to level it out. I'm thinking about getting some 255/85R16 Cooper S/T Maxx tires for it. The back bumper has a pretty good dent in it, so I'll keep an eye out for a stock replacement. Also needs a head unit since it's still got the stock stereo. I'll probably just pick up something cheap that has USB and Bluetooth capabilities.

Looks like a 4wd swap would require a new transmission as well. That part sucks. Probably not to hard to find since the 05/06 Tundra's share a trans with the Tacoma's,FJ's,4th Gens, etc. It uses a A750F trans. I think I know someone with one of those laying around....

ahem @Hank...

My friend has an 02 single cab 5spd 2wd long be tundra, that hurt my thumb. He would like a mild lift, for looks and better ride. I suggest 5100’s, but don’t know much about leafs. So my lazy ass is asking what y’all recommend? What else would y’all suggest to help a tundra drive nicer? I get the basic stuff(shocks, bushings etc) anything tundra specific that isn’t obvious?

Damn!!! I am late to the party I started!!! I am trying to find an 05-06 double cab. I recently found out that the Sequoias has 2nd row captains seats, that just happen to bolt into the rear of these trucks... I want to build a real legit comfy daily truck with rear center console!!!

And yes I got a 96 J-shift transfer case and twin sticks from front range offroad - that all bolted up to the where the actuator was before and was E Z P Z. Badass mod if I must saw so myself.

Wheelers offroad add a leaf is what I used on my truck for the rear lift, Left the stock overload leaf in though because I have a bedrack, tent, and camping gear.

Looks like a Coastal Offroad bumper. Tempted to get one of them for the front of my 3rd gen. It would give me a reason to pick up another mig welder.

LOL well the owner was trying to keep the cost down... we will be adding them soon...
we took it from stock to that in 6 weeks.. it was about 12k in parts ..
What's another $600 in bumps at that point? Pretty sick cantilever setup on it though. I've though about doing something like that down the line but I have no room for anything but through the floor. Someday I'll have nice shocks like that....

They just launched a springtime Group Buy on T4R.org. I’m so tempted to pull the trigger on a cheap WIY front bumper but I need a rear bumper way worse. Coastal Offroad offers a rear also but @eimkeith hasn’t finished his yet and that’s the one I like most for the 3rd gen T4R’s.

Yours is a closed top design? For my rig they offer a closed top and a more low pro open top but are slightly different designs and I like them both so I’d have a hard time choosing TBH.
