Sky's Off-road came through with the flat pitman arm! GM ES2234L 1-ton tie rod taper and machined very nicely. This steering package is coming together It is incredibly difficult to get this to fit together on a SUA axle setup, so I am pleased thus far.

Still filming videos, but hardly any time to put it all together. Should be getting more shop time with this extra daylight.

More money shot packaging. Towers will obviously be trimmed once vehicle is back at ride height and shock compressed/extended length is reset in relation to axle housing. I am piecing together a borgeson steering shaft setup from the column I am running a (3/4" to 1" - DD u-joint ) to...

Now THIS is the exciting stuff. FJ60 forward swing power steering box, Reproduction 'Ford Style' shock towers which are just beefier in every way than the original stamped steel type. If you know. You know ... FORD towers are awesome. I really like how it gives a bit of an OEM look to the...

Fenders and front apron off again now! I am tucking the engine up even higher than previously planned. New engine mounts (old mounts were only tacked in). Really not a fan of the original engine mount style. I am reworking these with a design that I believe to be a bit more robust. The new...

Transmission crossmember interference meant that I had to cut and modify this crossmember to make everything tuck up inside of the frame. Gained a significant amount of ground clearance in the process. Once again, the juice appears to be worth the squeeze because we are only 3.5" below the...

Made some decisions. This is a North American build, so by God why not use North American tie rods? GM 1Ton steering for the sake of parts availability and a robust steering setup. Parts should be here this week, but the upgrade should be worth it if everything packages as I expect it will...

Lots to update. Fuel filler neck finally arrived, looks to be right on the money. Had to take a break from that as we waited for parts on the fuel system to trickle in.

We were out in my little 3 Liter 4 banger! Trying to decide if we wanted to give up her Forester.

*Fuel Economy has left the room* Not too old, but just old enough that a few tasteful upgrades will make it feel like 2022 in here. Not too big, but big enough to take what we need.... with some breathing room. 4WD enough to enjoy with everyone. I would consider this a Van on a truck...

    Mama's I-Force Sled (5.7L 4x4 Sequoia)

A year ago I started talking about what life would look like for us in Mama Bear's Forester with another youngster in the mix. 6 months ago, finally finishing up my degree, our newborn arrived and I planted the idea of making life a bit more comfortable for us all. This week I'll be washing...

Making dreams happen out of a small space! On to the driveshafts. Took some measurements for the driveshafts using masking tape and making marks on the flanges. Same method to verify bolt patterns on the flanges. Several different possible combinations with the triple drilled flanges...

Differential No.2 with all new everything. Pattern I absolutely dialed, slightly toe biased (competition set) and .006" of backlash. I am expecting some adjustments potentially since this is a high-torque application.

While working on the other differential I noticed that the pinion nut washer was missing. Looking it up online I found it was a $5 washer and likely would take 5 days to show up. I found a really nice piece of 1140 steel and machined a pinion nut washer in about 10 minutes. This stuff is...

I love this thing too! It is a cheapie off of Amazon or eBay IIRC. had to make a couple of minor improvements for it to swivel smoothly, but it works with the 9.5" & will definitely work with the 8" so I have no desires for anything fancier at this point.

I got this roller off of it's own weight so that I could build up a brand new set of gears. Nitro 4.10's, and solid spacer. I haven't ever done a 9.5, and it turned out alright! Anti-tamper torque paint to help me remember where I'm at in life. Pattern came out looking fairly uniform...
