Well I was never able to align the passenger headlight properly and I was also tired of seeing the the hood kind of flap as I drive down the road. A few weeks ago I ordered a core support from toyota, the quality is a loads better than the aftermarket one I ordered a few years back. It wasn't much better than a soda can. I have a clamp on order to pull the passenger side apron out a 1/4 inch. Just have to grind off the old spot welds, get the passenger side fitting better, and test fit with the hood and fenders before I weld it up. View attachment 23477

And about the glue on the cv boot it held in the places I was able to get really clean. But the axle will be replaced.
You glued your cv boot back together?

Well the new core support it welded up and painted. The driver side everything is lining up almost perfectly, the front passenger fender still needs help I will have to watch for a good used one. Just waiting on a few items to come in to finish it up; a headlight bolt and new battery hold down, ac dryer and condenser, vacuum pump and gauge set.

I had spent about 60 in paint used the core support as a test panel to see if I should do my own painting on some other areas of my truck that need fixed. The core support is now the best looking panel on my 4runner. Went through napa for the base coat had it mixed and put into a aerosol can, them found a local paint supply that sold the Spraymax 2k clear glamour gloss.

I have my truck basically together, installed a new condenser, dryer, and bought the equipment to evacuate and charge the ac system my self; which went smoothly. Stopped buy the junkyard to pick up an extra set of lower condenser brackets to mount my transmission oil cooler, I didn't want to shove the plastic ties through my new condenser.

Later I will pick up some hard line to replace most of the rubber hose. My ocd kicked in and I found the part number for the AC service tag/sticker 20200608_184159.jpg

I hated putting the bumper back on the top plastic piece is warped and I still need to do some alignment on it, or just say screw it and order a plate bumper from True North Fabrications.

It has been over a year since I have been on here.

Since my last post I have done the Tundra brakes, sent my differentials to East Coast Gear Supply and am currently in the process of replacing a cracked flexplate.

Quick specs on the differentials, 4.88 gears, Yukon grizzly locker in back and Detroit truetrac in front.

For my current project I have all the parts I need to start putting it back together. I looks like some has had the flexplate off once before because the odd bolt on the crankshaft. I have all new hardware for the crankshaft and torque converter.

I made sure to do some cleaning while I waited for parts (transmission was cleaned as well just for got to take pictures).

I do have the front wheel bearings to change out right after I get transmission back in.
