I'm rekindling this thread, shame to leave it as is. Over the summer of 2020 life got crazy busy for me. I cut getting real work done on this truck and had it hanging out in cold storage. I've worked off and on getting small things accomplished in the background but nothing super major. Early last year I decided to start prepping to move out of the valley my shop was currently perched in to a place 3 hours away. Took me about a year to get my shop/house fully moved and me sunk into a new career. Now that everything is pretty stable and the summer is winding down, I am getting focused back on this project.
The truck as it sits from last post:
I ditched the offset 80 series axle for a custom built centered 9.5" housing full float 80 series width so I don't have funky driveshaft angles.
I cut down the front of the bed about 15inches and stuck it back together, then cut the floor to fit onto the back of the truck.
Some sheet metal work has started on sealing up and finishing the cab.

Going forward I'm gonna be working on finishing the sheet metal out, and then doing some painting.

I honestly loved it in its original state, I want one of those!

Great project and work, regardless
I did too, but I always wanted a 75 series based truck more. Except there a LOT more expensive to import into the country. And then I'd still have to cut it up and mod it because I can't leave anything stock lol

I didn't like the jeep gladiator sized bed hangover in the rear so I cut another 10 inches out of the back. Proportionally should look better. Also started into assembling the new hubs for the rear. Installed new races and lug studs. Just waiting on spindles, then the truck will finally be on its feet.
