Captain Magma
4x4 dreams on a 4x2 budget
Figured I'd spread the knowledge here, used a great thread from TW by GLR to finally get this, so I cannot and will not take any bit of credit for this, just want to pass some info on. I don't think it will work for all 1st gen tacoma/3gT4R's, but if it was a later model and had factory towing you might be in business.
Later gens of both models should have this gauge/setting standard with an Ultragauge, so you won't have to program it in. These year Tacomas and T4R's were kind of hit or miss if they had trans temp sensors installed from the factory. So far I can only say that factory towing has them for sure, as far as I know. YMMV, but either way an Ultraguage or Scangauge is still a good investment for these trucks.
My UG specs are:
Ultragauge Mx1.3 (you need this specific model)
Ultragauge ISO-9141 * KWP2000 Isolation Cable
Truck Specs:
2002 Double Cab Tacoma (TRD)
A340F
5VZ-FE
J-shift w/ADD
Factory tow package
Just copied exactly what he had and I was in business
