@SlashX realistically what are we thinking of this actually happening? I've talked to a few people and we're thinking the camp host isn't coming back after the shut down.
If it doesn't happen are you guys camping local like johnson valley or chilitown?
Have to see what the weather looks like. Been a pretty mild summer so I'm not adverse to a chili town run if it's not too hot.
If the weather stays nice, figure high desert area is a good second option.

Why wouldn't it open. They are closed for the next two week that just means there will be no fires before the San G trip. The weather will be colder by then. They are still selling campsites for the week before San G.
The conversation I had with the ranger was that there are no planned closer for the week of our trip. She wished us a fun camping trip.
Because why reopen a campsite for two weekends when you can save the money and keep it closed since the season is over.
All campsites in big bear don't close the week of 9/27, San G is one that does. The staff is still working they don't get laid off for 2 weeks, they keep working. They are still there maintaining the grounds. The whole state will reopen on the 17 and we'll be fine.
Stop being so negative. If they don't re-open I'll invite you all to Stoddard wells and we can camp & cruz up to SlashX. that would be fun too.
SO CALM THE FUCK DOWN.
Ive got some issues to address
