I have bumpers to build and a winch to hook up. 30 to 40 lbs to loose for my daughters wedding in late October. If I have vacation time to take to go and time for the wedding and the family that is coming out I will make it out to comifornia

You got almost 3 months. Get cranking. You'll lose weight working steel on the rigs. Win win.

The whole Atkins/keto thing... it’s not sustainable. The only true weight loss that works is lowering caloric intake. Having that epiphany that you actually don’t need to eat that much is the greatest hurdle. Once you get past that you’ll lose weight.

the trick is to keep your muscle while doing it. So don’t cut out protein but limit it to an appropriate amount. It’s actually a lot smaller than you think. Your body can only utilize a certain amount and the average American diet overshoots it’s by a LOT

Bullshit. You can eat as much as you want as long as you're burning the calories. Say with cardio for instance. Run, hike, bike, swim, jump rope. As long as calories in is less then calories out you will loose weight. Now, if you only diet to loose weight, sure. You need to cut way back on calories. Doing that is foolish as it never trains your metabolism to increase. So, as soon as you go off the diet, you put the weight right back on. You need to retrain metabolism and the only way to do that is to increase your heart rate with good old cardio.

:popcorn2: I just started working out regularly and cut down my drinking. I was drinking daily with soda for the past couple months, cut that in half and I’ve lost 20 lbs in the last couple weeks... granted I’m young so
I’m at 204, would love to be back in 190s though but

Most people are not going to do that amount of cardio. It’s not a diet it’s a lifestyle change for sure. You can become a massive gym rat but that’s not sustainable either as you get older and stuff wears out

Yaaa that started out of boredom. Months with the hernias unable to do anything, then a couple months of being locked at home with the virus. Something had to give. Kinda hard to lay off the booze, although I did manage to stop snacking as much

going on a week long camping trip soon, soooo much drinking will probably happen heh heh

You’re also in a physical occupation that basically is all cardio and weights

Yeah, that's part of it. The other part is just my lifestyle in general. I'm outside hiking, climbing, fishing more then I'm inside. It all started years ago with a few friends from back east. We where young. 22-25 or so. We there all active all the time. We all where competitive as hell. Always trying to be the "fittest". We came up with this dumb ass saying one day. Fit for life. We used to say it all the fucking time. Fast forward 25 years and I'm the only one who stuck with it. lol

You’re the outlier. Genetics also plays a part of it. Regardless it’s a lifestyle that enables you to eat whatever you want. For most others it’s a lifestyle change with food and not a “diet” that will promote weight loss

lifestyle change checking in here. 5'11 and went from 225 to 165 and found my comfy spot about 175ish. did all kinds of good things to my health stats. I feel a decade younger. my back and knees. even 10lbs, pickup a weight and carry it around for awhile and set it down...ya I stopped carrying 60 dead weight pounds. if my lethargic, computer IT work from home cave troll ass can do it...

Lol good for you! About 14 years ago I went from 240 to about 183 in 6 months. Didn’t even start working out until about 2-3 months in after the first 30 lbs. Most of it returned due to poor eating habits. Actually it was because I can afford the tasty (bad for you) food.

Only reason I said cut out red meat was to get rid of bloat. I used to eat red meat at least 3 times a week. When I got kidney stones the diet changed. I couldn't cut out animal protein, so I switched to fish and turkey. Cutting out the red meat was the biggest change to my diet while watchinf my water intake.. 17lbs down since April 21st. Its coming off easy now and I haven't even started to excercise yet besides PT. Just my experience
