Just sent the money for the LS swap parts.

Also picked up a used set of Donahoe Racing 2.5" coilovers last night for $550. Figured since my Bilstein 5100's are blown out and leaking a bunch, I might as well get something that I can revalve if needed. (but anything should be better than what I have now, right?). Well I installed them last night and they suck lol. Right now they are providing probably less than 1" of lift. Need a spanner wrench to increase the preload. Also the valving seems pretty soft. Kinda hard to tell since they are so low and barely any up travel as it sits. I'll probably try to get some sort of flutter stack going to get a more progressive feeling out of the digressive piston. Pretty bummed how shitty they perform as-is. Figured they would at least be better than what I had in there.

Find a punch that fits the collar hole and use a piece of pipe to turn them. That's how I used to adjust my icons.

You need one? I can grab you one if you want. 2.5" shock, right?
thanks, but unnecessary. only if mine took a regular wrench. I have two for the OMEs. one in the truck and one in the cabinet I glued down to force me to find the truck one. lol break liquid nails in case of forgetfulness.

I have a spanner for my SAW’s and x2 on the HF punch set. The largest one gets better leverage than a spanner but I adjust with the LBJ unbolted (4 bolts) and swing the spindle out of the way. Spanner may be easier to get in there if leaving everything mounted.

Tightened the preload nut down about an inch. Probably sitting around 2.5” of lift now. Ride is so much better. I actually have some up travel now. Should be a hell of a lot better than what I had before. Still might need some stiffer valving but too early to tell. One thing I noticed is that the rear needs shorter bumps 3” stroke is too long, and a more progressive /firmer valve stack in the rear. I had the rear soft to not overwork the front but that’s gonna change with this new setup.

Any idea what the coil rate is? They could be too light for your weight.

They are 600 which is plenty for my weight. I think I just need stiffer valving.

13 or 14? Might need to bump up the rate to get the height you want then dial in the valving to get the ride you want.

Idk height. Sure I could look for it though. I may need a taller coil but I can almost guarantee that the 600 lb rate is plenty with what I have.
Remember I have a synthetic winch line, a very light bumper, and battery hanging off the rear end instead of the front.
