I need to get some tools and parts ordered, but I am having a tough time convincing myself to spend the money. I've been doing pretty damn good at saving lately, and I hate to see all that hard work take a hit just for things I don't NEED, just want.
Still need to hurry up and get seats ordered, press brake kit, air/hydraulic tube bender kit, 2" and 1" tube dies, dimple dies, fuel cell, front and rear shocks, and all kinds of little shit in between.
Seats are 12 week lead time
Shocks are probably at least 4 weeks
Fuel cell might take a few weeks

My wife keeps telling me to just do it even though she hates me spending money, but also tired of hearing me talk about it.
Being responsible sucks lol

Tools are an investment. You want to do the fabrication you want to do you need them. Buy used. Take the savings and buy your wife something she wants as a surprise.

Garage space is running dry

I still have to build a stand for my bender and decided to go air over hydro while I’m at it. I found a slim stand design online that I’ll probably model mine from. Don’t talk to me about garage space either. I use a tiny portion of a 1 car garage for my workbench and welding cart and squeezing this bender in on top of it is asking a lot. I’ve seen your work area, you’re putting in a hydraulic lift for crying our loud!

Not the worst idea! Might have to look into that

Kinda my thoughts on the investment side of things. They’ll eventually pay for themself.
some things are easy to buy used but others I’ll need to buy new just for the ease of finding and not much difference in cost. I’ll most likely buy my seats brand new as well. Something that’ll last a long time so might as well be comfortable while we are at it.

Lol, yeah I have a decent sized area to work but these damn tools are taking up so much space in the garage. I’m seriously considering getting a 20’ shipping container to use for storage. Line the walls with shelves so I can get all the crap out of my garage and make it a shop only.

I must say, I've been listening to F/R Locked occasionally, it's awesome. Sure hope you and Trevor continue to do the podcasts. Tuan Vu does insane work (as do you!) it was so fun to listen to you guys chat projects and a little of life in general. As such an inexperienced guy and so fresh to the scene, so much of your talk was over my head but so great to learn about. Can't wait for more!

I’ve heard great stuff about the rogue fab stuff. I already have the JD2 Model 3 though. Gonna add the hydraulic kit to it and get some more dies that I need.
So are these limited edition IFS penis bottle openers going to take as long as the hoodies.
That’s if I make some. Motivation to design the file is low, but if we can get someone to make the design, I’ll make a run of them.

Glad you are enjoying the podcast! We are having a lot of fun on there. Especially with the guests. Tuan is a madman for sure. Always has cool projects up his sleeve and does really good work (especially for just being a regular dude who isn’t a fabricator for a living). Speaking of podcasts, we need to get our next episode recorded. If there is anyone you want us to have on as a guess or topics to discuss, always feel free to reach out. We are always looking for feedback.
