My brother is slightly considering Gilbert/Chandler area if his company ever gets enough traction in AZ to consider a regional HQ out there. I'm thinking Prescott or Prescott Valley once my wife finishes school. Seems like the perfect mix of weather, and has enough growth for me to actually make a decent living out there.

Both areas are pretty nice. There are nice places and not so nice places in each city/area.
Chandler and Gilbert have built up their downtown areas and they are pretty nice with some good restaurants and brewpubs!

The mountains above Phoenix is nice during the summer. My grandma lives in Payson, and when we went in the summer one year, the weather was actually decent.

Prescott is 1.5 hours from me. I can be in the Flagstaff or Payson areas in 2 hours. All over a mile in elevation.
