@Dukestaco sunrise was fucking killer today! Powder knee deep. They closed apache mountain yesterday because of high winds so with it snowing all day yesterday it just stacked up. Today was blue bird and I had first chair. Ran over there and had powder runs for the first 3 hours and first tracks on most of them. Tree runs were fantastic aswell.
Fuck me. Damn that sounds like a bucket list day. Whalen are you available this week to go back out. I ll drive up the night before and board the next day.

That was fun hanging out getting to shred! They ended up leaving the mountain open till 430 so we stuck around cause the parking lot cleared out by 3. So was not busy at all and got more runs in.

Nice. Google maps tried to fuck me. It said that salt canyon pass was closed and wanted to reroute me through Payson. I said fuck all that. I can take a nap on a road closing if there is a wreck but I am not adding another hour drive. Turned out is was BS. Road was clear as fuck. Even stopped to see how much water was running to do a rafting trip in the spring. Fuck the alphabet boys and Google.

Crazy it would say that way is closed unless a accident then it's only temporary. Glad you didn't fall for the trick!

Oh and if interested this is a pretty cool scenic 105 mile route. Prob makes a better overnighter than day trip. Has fast and cruising sections a-b and f-g plus slow and nasty sections just after b to f. Did it in stock height taco skids and tires took a beating but made it.View attachment 82813
I was just over there yesterday. Was trying to look of the 17 wondering what all was back there and the difficulty level.

It's pretty back there great views of the Verde basin as you climb/drop into the canyon. Lots of little canyons once you get north of Bloody basin rd. Right now with how green it is and all the flowers in bloom is a good time.

It's crazy right now how much green is around. Everything I drive down from up here its just unreal how green the desert is and all the wild flowers. Beautiful time to get out in the desert right now for sure. To bad I was in the tundra and not the 4runner otherwise I would have gone exploring a bit.

Down in phx for a vendor day. Went over for a hour or two then ran around to some other vendors. Also went by 2nd swing to try out a new driver my employees bought me. Now chilling at a bar with a beer before the homies get off work and will meet up for dinner. In the infamous words of warrior poet ice cube said "today is a good day"
