@theesotericone got me hooked on these guys. The fresh in store is better than prepackaged, but it's still really fucking good, especially the elk. Guess I need to plan a trip to bishop this summer. Maybe late July.

Edit: or matt just needs to come down here. Hahaha.

Mahogany is second to none. It's so cool to live in a little town and have the best beef jerky in the US. Our local coffee roaster is also one of the best I've ever had.

As far as going down to SoCal I bought a welder so I no longer have a reason to visit. I'm sure @AssBurns is stoked to not have to weld my shit all the time. We can get a trip together soon though and I'll bring as much as you guys want. The elk is damn good but the peppered buffalo is my personal favorite. It's also cheaper in store then online. It's $38 a pound in store and $50 a pound online.

So, when's the next trip? lol

Does your local coffee roaster ship or have an online store! Always up to try new coffee!

Yes they do. If your used to oily roasts Peter's(the owner) roasting will surprise you. It's a totally dry roast that's super low on acid and super high in caffeine. Most of the roasts are light to medium so if your a dark coffee guy stick with the french roast. If you like a lighter roast my go to is the Ethiopian Yargacheffe. Here's the link:

I'm pretty partial to the peppered elk. Can't remember if I tried the buffalo or the boar last time I ordered online. They've got a location in Huntington Beach, but haven't been to it yet.

Usually roast my own but its too hot out in the summer here. Each bean has different flavors depending on the roast, that's why I don't like Starbucks as they ruin the actual taste of the cofffee!!!
I haven't had a good Yargacheffe in a long time!!! Thanks for the link, his coffee sounds good to me!

I've never cold brewed. I've had The Black Sheeps iced coffee which is cold brewed and it's pretty damn good. Now that you bought it up maybe I'll try making some Friday night for the weekend. How many ounces of coffee do you normally use for 32 ounces of water?

Not sure, I use this:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Bodum-Bean-12-Cup-Cold-Brew-Black-Iced-Coffee-Maker/556336942
And put about 4 scoops (scoop says it’s 0.25oz) of really coarse ground coffee in it. The recipe I’ve read says to let it steep for 12-24 hours but I’ve gone way past that. Most people who try it that have a more refined palate for coffee say it’s good.

It doesn’t come out dark but it’s smooth as hell

Coffee's not supposed to be dark. Somehow gas stations and diners convinced Americans that dark, shit tasting coffee is good coffee. Just like Bud and Coors convinced Americans that piss water is actually beer.

Thanks for the link. I have a Bodum burr grinder so the cold brew french press will fit in just fine.

Of course not. It’s supposed to have chocolate and peppermint and shit in it.

I keep forgetting to stop there when I come up. Last time it was like 9pm so obviously I couldn't go. I just bought a bag of that ethiopian stuff.

@TACOVRD had the last piece of jerky today. That was some good jerky. My son asked me two days ago if I had any left and I said no:anon:. I need to get some more. Where did you say you got it at again.

I‘ve only ever found it at Love’s Travel Stops or most QT’s usually carry it.
