That’s what we are looking for around here. Thanks for helping out!
I’m actually looking to move to Prescott area. I’d like to have some more moderate weather.
Is there a lot of hunting/fishing in Tucson area?
It's the least I can do. For a degenerate miscreant such as myself, this is a safe space. Those safe spaces all the snowflakes talk about... Well I'd never want to be there in the first place but if I ever tried, I'd last about 10 minutes before I had the whole group triggered and trying to shout me out, then I'd probably try to fight all of them. Lol. A community like this is my kind of place, so I wanted to try to help out.
Never been to Prescott but I'm sure it's quite a bit cooler than tucson. You'll probably appreciate anywhere in AZ over cali just because of our 2A freedoms here. Welcome to the land of high cap mags and constitutional carry.
Hunting and fishing around Tucson...
Tucson is surrounded by mountain ranges they call "sky islands", meaning that they're unique ecosystems that contain multiple biomes, which are separated from eachother by a sea of desert. We've got some urban lakes that get stocked, but I never fish in them. The mountain lakes is where it's at. Going from 110° at around 3500' to 75° at around 7000' (rose canyon lake) is what it's all about in the summer. There's a couple of lakes that are farther south, like 4-5 miles from the border and there's a couple other mountain lakes within a few hours drive but these are all stocked lakes. If you want to fish native species, you've pretty much got to head North.
As far as hunting goes, we have all kinds of small game and predator/furbearer species in the desert valleys, as well as mule deer and javelina. When you hit the mountains you get into coues whitetail deer, mountain lion, turkey and black bear too. There's plenty of big game hunting to keep you busy for 1/2 the year if you rifle and bow hunt and take advantage of every opportunity.
