Noticed I had a leak at the pressure reducing valve where the water shut off is and the sprinkler system connects. I have fixed this same thing 5 years ago but today/tonight it is just not working! Guess I am calling a plumber tomorrow morning. I have water but it is still leaking and not sure what I fucked up! Frustrated so having a beer to calm down.

Go snap a photo of the PRV and I'll have a look. It's probably just a back flow valve. If it's leaking from the union you need a new rubber washer. Get me a pic and I'll try to help.

We have really hard water here and it seems to fuck this up every couple of years. I will take another pic tonight or tomorrow morning before I call the plumber. Home Depot opens at 6 so I should have some time before getting ready for work

I replaced it with the exact same valve as last time. Apollo model PRE 1/2"-1"(36e series) if that matters at all.

It's a PRV. Is that your main with the ball valve under the PRV? If so you can just shut that down. Then undo both nuts holding the PRV in place. Remove the PRV and take it with you. Find two new washers of the correct size. Easy fix. If it's leaking from the bell housing you need a diaphragm rebuild kit. Just be gentle with the copper when you remove it. Copper will flex a little but not a lot. lol

Did you put the washers in? That's what creates the seal between the male nut on the copper and the female thread on the unit.

Shift work sucks big donkey dick. Granted that's why it pays so well but none the less it sucks.
Worked four nights in a row , usually get a few days in between to adjust to days but fuck I am a zombie today and can even remember if I wiped my ass after a shit I did because I actually whent back and rewiped and it was clean. So I did but couldn't remember. Have to rebuild a tcasse today but I am going to take a nap or else I am going to fuck it up.
