Let's see everyones cages! Exos, Endos, Home-made, WIY, "bolt-in", whatever you got. Personally, I am constantly thinking about adding some protection for myself underneath my 25yo sheet metal, but not sure what direction I want to go. Explain your reasoning for caging the way you did, pros, cons, etc. Give some build notes if you did it yourself, like what to think about and what to watch out for. Stoked to see them!

I also love wheeleveryweekends comment. Hey guys just finished up my cage. Next post. Hey guys just took my truck back apart. Man I can relate.

Cages are intense to do yourself. Test how much you really do like your truck. You will get burnt out. Take breaks and enjoy the process. You will contemplate selling your truck many times. I always vote for internal cage. My frame was getting old and fatigued and all the body work was falling apart. So strength, safety, and taking my truck to the next step was my reason for a cage. But man are they loud.

I’ve ridden in a utv and convertible mustang with cages, but otherwise zero experience. Can you explain what you mean by loud? Cabin noise or like a tuning fork?

Depending on how they get tied in, the cab/body and cage will move differently and get creaking and rattling noises for sure.

I know on my buggy, the sheet metal rattled real bad af certain rpms/frequencies. A lot of effort has gone into separating panels and tubing except the exact bolt locations to cut down on that.

I have a 4 cyl on poly engine mounts so it just makes inside the cab pretty loud.

Is your cage tied into your body at all? A,B, & C pillar tie-ins?

That’s what I’m planning to do too. Not looking forward to the clunks, clanks and rattles of a “unibody” haha

Weld the a pillar to the cage. Helps a ton. My cab doesn't move at all. And lots of dynomat. You have a v6 so it won't be that bad.
