ok Kasnerd was starting to scare me into thinking that I’d be going into the abyss.

is there anything to worry about as far as maintaining a mid travel setup vs standard travel setups?
Your shocks will need to be rebuild more often vs a stock setup depending on how hard you drive it. That’s with any setup

just get it and enjoy it. You don’t need long travel unless you’ve got BAJA 500 aspirations.

Nope , there's nothing to worry about at all. Almost all after-market set-ups you see from King, Icon, ADS, Fox are mid-travel. The coilover is the same as a standard travel. There's an internal bumper if they are kept as standard travel. That bumper is removed for extended or mid travel. The rest of the shock is exactly the same.

I’ve got a good alignment shop that I use.

ohhh "extended" ya, mid travel is merely a rest stop on the way to long travel town. @theesotericone covered it.

Using an aftermarket adjustable UCAs help with alignment issues and expect wear and tear on front CVs with a lift on it, also wheeling has a tendency to just eat shit at a steady rate.

You'll find a lot of mods are just to keep from breaking shit and not necessarily added performance.

The only thing that might be different is the rear shocks depending on the coil that comes with it. Metal tech has a specific built rear icon to go with it's "long travel" rear coil that gets a little more travel than the extended travel. Might bump it up to 10" of travel vs the mid 9" most get. I forget the details and I just woke up so I don't feel like looking.

If I can somehow get my fiance on board with my recent spending, and the Dolphins win on Sunday it might just be a hell of a week!
Some advice about the fiancé. If she wants to become the wife she needs to enjoy the ride and stfu. My wife says being married to me is like a roller coaster ride. She loves the “weeee” part. I tell her there is no weeee without the clack ,clack , clack that gets you to the top and there is always a brief pause that allows her to get off. She has stayed on for 30 years. Ps. If I was in my 20’s and getting married today it would be a business proposition first and love second.

Haha, this is good. The way I see it is that since we don’t have kids yet I can spend how I please with the money I make, she is pretty cool with that as long as we keep an emergency fund. She wants kids eventually so I am spending while I can!

Also remember, if she goes along with your spending on truck BS, you gotta go along with hers too. I need this tattoo on my eye lids:
