That looks like a great time. One of these days I’ll make it out west…

How does your front skid mount? I’ve got a 333 fab rack clamp sitting on my workbench but discovered it interferes with the rear skid mount for my Bud Built skids. I think it’ll fit with a little bit of grindering but I ran out of time to dick with it when I had it apart.

Definitely an trip for the books. Couldn't have asked for a better time!

Ha! Funny you mention that since I broke the last skid plate mount recently. Currently it's only got 3 bolts on the belly skid and 3 bolts on the front bumper.

I forgot to post this here, but another trip back to the Rubicon this past weekend for Zukicon. Got the invite to go from Amber back at KoH this past year so we sent it. Met some new friends. Did some racecar stuff with racecar friends. Already can't wait for the next trip!

Back to a little wrenching and starting to do some needed maintenance on the old girl. Changed out my old seat brackets to some PRP brackets. My old seat brackets were straight up ghetto fab.

Also wrapped the hydraulic lines on the coil overs with a protective sleeve. I'm planning on relocating the remote reservoirs, but I want to wait until Winter before I start ripping into the truck for full KoH prep.

Gathering parts for a rear 3 link. Parts are slowly starting to trickle in. I'll probably order DOM tube here in the next month or so. If all goes according to plan, I'm going to rip into the truck once I get back from Sand Hollow in November. Got 10 weeks between then and when I'm suppose to leave for King of the Hammers. She's going to boogie!

Wasn't sure if I wanted to run a sway bar, but after talking to a few people, I've decided to get one. Big shoutout to Tony at TK1 for letting me pick his brain about sway bars and getting a solid recommendation for a bar that'll work well for both crawling and go fast stuff. These arms are also total BEEF!

What Inner clevis / heim setup are you running on steering and is that a factory rack or something built?

It's a new OEM steering rack. Unfortunately there are no aftermarket alternatives for the 1GTaco. I was running Dirt King inner clevis mounts with FK heims, but after they kept coming loose (even with red loctite), and I actually had one side completely back out on me, I swapped over to Total Chaos' heim steering upgrade so I could retain the factory inner TRE. This also helps create a weak point in the steering so I don't blow up the rack or destroy mounts, or at least it should take more abuse before I see a mount or rack fail.

Gotcha!

Did you notice your steering is way different with the new LBJ delete? I just did the same and it feels like the steering is way more responsive or by eyeball alignment is off. Maybe the uniball needs to break in more.

Steering was super tight of the get go, but it's had some time to break in and it's feel pretty good right now. Definitely more responsive than before, but my alignment is off as well so whoops haha.

My lower bushings are toast along with my cam tabs and actual mounts so I will have no accurate data till marlin crawler does their lca reinforcements for our trucks. Then full rebuild.
