That blows!
Might as well find an LS to throw in there while you are it and ready spend money :boink:

Would, but I already committed to new OEM heads at a pretty heavily discounted price. :anon:

Plus time wise, I'd like the truck to be running so I can at least enjoy part of this Summer. Truck wouldn't be running for another year if I did an LQ4 swap.

I feel you there! Being without a truck blows. I ended up buying another one for the time being.

Got the engine fully stripped down and ready for the machine shop today.

Was also able to get myself some heads for a decent price. Pretty stoked on that since these are the 2 biggest pieces I need for the rebuild.

Engine goes in for the rebuild in about a months time, so I guess next weekend the front suspension comes out and LT prep starts.

Got the UCA gussets to fit, as well as old cam tabs are out.

Still need to do a little more fitment work with the UCA gussets and do some more clean up work for the new cam tabs, but I need to pull the steering rack and brakes off to get that done. Got a 4 day weekend coming up here, so hopefully we get a lot more done.

Good progress these last 2 days. Got all the fitment dialed on the cam tabs and coil tower reinforcements and everything is welded in now. Not the prettiest welds, but they'll hold.

Need to flat out some of the welds on the cam tabs to allow for full range of motion for my alignment guy, but other than that, I'm planning to box the factory motor mounts to hopefully give them a little bit more rigidity. Once that's all done, it's on to cleaning and prepping for paint.

Very nice. I'd love to hone my welding skill again, but that requires my truck to not need constant work... most of which is self inflicted, but I digress. :anon:

I'd love to learn to weld, but that requires equipment and rewiring the house. It can wait a few more years when I have the time and money to do things right.

I'm stoked on the progress I was able to make these last few days. Everything, outside of the steering rack, is on the truck so I can cycle suspension for limit straps and bump stops. I will be putting the rack back on to ensure nothing in the steering binds at either full bump or full droop, but that's for another day.

It's also not even funny how much up travel I've gained. For reference, at full droop the center of the hub is at 29 1/2 inches from the bottom of the fender, and then at *near* full bump, I'm looking at 16 inches.

So roughly 13 1/2 inches of suspension travel. The upper uniball bolt does contact the inner fender on both sides. Driver side is worse, but I can fix that. There's definitely at least some sheet metal work in my future to make everything clear with no issues.

I also decided to bolt up on of my wheels to see how much work it's going to be to make everything fit with no issues again. Remember when I said full bump is 16 inches from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender? and half of 35 is 17 1/2, so that equals....

I need to cut the fenders more for the tires. :deadbanana: There's a slight change that I need to take some of the inner fender out, but I don't know yet. Need to pull the fenders off to make sure.

Once I fix all the clearance issues, it'll then be time to put these in.

Like I said at the beginning, super stoked on the progress. In terms of suspension travel, I am going to try and keep most of the travel. I have zero intention of gimping up travel so the goal is to have roughly 13 inches of travel strapped and bumped. Depending on how obtainable that is is basically dependent of how much cutting I end up doing.
