Tbh your setup prolly nets the same travel as mid travel but with zero maintenance. And zero flash. And zero flex on the peasants.

stock lcas are cool but that’s it. Now if you add secondary shocks and stuff some 3.0 kings in there...that’s an appropriate flex for sure.

You’re welcome

But... but... it’s teal...

Me: I was pondering something.
Wife: What’s that?
Me: Opening up the garage door and windows, get a cross breeze, and stand upwind and paint that bumper...
Wife: Dude, no. You’re gonna fucking die.
Me: ...or... I could call the paint shop tomorrow and have them do it...
Wife: Better idea. And they could probably use the work.

She’s a smart one

aww, but nothing beats that new epoxy smell... yea, the better half is frequently silent about most truck mods and that's when I know things are going sideways.

"Why did you buy a truck if you are going to change everything?"

Uh, because, uh...go anywhere? no? shit... because it's cool? (she hates the way it looks now) no? uh... because, these fucking forums keep giving me ideas and it's a terrible affliction and it's awesome and shut up I'm not as she says 'out playing trucks with the boys'.

She knew what she was getting into with this one. It was this one for $36K with room to customize or $55K for a new Ram with no add-ons. I like where this is going. :)

Paint it or get it painted yet?
Dropped it off at the powder coat shop yesterday. They’re pretty busy, so hopefully I’ll see it in a week or so. I pondered having a body shop paint it, but there are some parts that you can’t hit with wet paint that you can get powder into. I know it’s not as easily repairable as sprayed-on paint, but I’ll fix it as needed. Need to keep the salt damage off the inside. Exterior scratches don’t bother me as much.

Nice day to put in some air springs. Don’t know if I’ll need them for a while, but it’s fast, easy, and inexpensive. Since I’m lifted 2.5/1.5, I needed longer air springs. Bought a set of 6003s to replace those in the normal 4135 kit. If I had to do it again, I’d just order the kit that contained the 6003 bags. But they’re in there now. :)

Got everything staged and ready to go. Woke up the boy ‘cause I needed muscle. Das one heavy bitch. Had no idea if everything was going to fit or not. The winch I bought has a humongous switch box, so I wasn’t sure if things were going to clear. Turns out some wiring didn’t so did a bit of re-routing and everything fits with an RCH or two to spare. Ended up putting the bumper on and taking it off three or four times. Once we knew it fit, then we put the plastic back on and lifted it into place with a floor jack. With a royal PITA this was! Glad I only have to do it once (four times). Ride height stayed the same, as expected. Looks good! Ready to go pull shopping carts and mini vans out of the ditch at Piggly Wiggly!

Tied the power steering line out of the way. Protected it with a scrap of garden hose.D95C2986-250B-4EDB-B57E-45336CEB70A7.jpeg00429A70-DAA7-4CD0-8230-297A3249588F.jpeg

Test fit the new bumper and there were some obstructions with the winch cables so had to move them.
