Mezzanine arm FTW.
That’s where I got the inspiration from for my rear suspension I’m working on.

Another JD fab project? I’m in love

Nope, Harry's personal truck he's working on at JD. Thing is fucking incredible.

Spent more time looking at Harry's truck than Jesse's Mi'shell 6100 based build. Bonkers shop... they need a fansonly.

So much cool stuff going on at that shop! Wish I had half the skills those guys have. Pretty fucking impressive to say the least.

Installed the @Sherpa Equipment Co. rack this afternoon by myself in 2-3 hours. Nothing spectacular to report. I followed the directions and all was well. The quality of the side bars was great, the finish was very good, the cross bars appear to be standard extrusions, and they were finished nicely as well. Mounting hardware was perfect and fit great. I appreciate that no adhesive/caulk is needed for this rack and no holes to drill for the front standoffs.

Two observations: First, the forward mounting arrangement is different from the method called out in the installation instructions. No big deal. Anyone can see what changed and account for it.

Second, the two forward crossbar slots are some amount shorter than the aft ones. Getting the screws into the slots is a bit challenging, but not impossible.

Otherwise it’s solid and ready for lumberyard duties.

I have their rack (teton I think?) before they became Sherpa and install was similar to yours. Once you get it setup the first time, getting in on/off is a cake walk. I vinyl wrapped the roof before the rack for added protection/sun repellant because hot af SoCal desert fun times.

Make sure you put down some silicone sealant with the roof bolts to keep out the water. I leave the blocks and bolts in when the rack is off and re-silicone with reinstallation. Protip: when reinstalling the trimmed weather stripping, put down velcro strips to keep it in place and it won't come off when hauling ass down the highway.

Wind-noise is a thing and just adjust the front to find the sweet spot...it won't go away but it's minimal with some finesse. I also wrapped the bars in hockey stick tape to help stuff from sliding around on the slick aluminum...added benefit it also reduced some wind noise. Easy to put on and take off. Laid it on lengthwise instead of wrapping like said hockey stick.

silicone is lexal. stuff is amazingly good.

According to Sherpa, this one is silicone free. The blocks under the mounts are solid rubber and the washers under the bolt heads are rubberized. One of the reasons I chose it.

Haven’t taken it anywhere yet to check for noise.

same with mine. careful not to overtighten the bolts. mine came loose (rubber might have conformed to tht openings) and then I tightened them too much the 2nd time and they lost their shape/seal. oopsies.

These showed up today. There are a couple places up in the forest I want to go, but didn’t really want to try without some manner of rocker protection. The wait time wasn’t too long. I ordered on April 10 and they arrived today. Happy to support the local manufacturers (Michigan). Maybe I’ll put them on this weekend. Not sure what the weekend looks like yet.
