I wish we had a thread of spotting for trucks doing truck stuff like goin to the dump, hauling lawnmowers (itd be nothing but pics of this) and loaded up goin places to do things.

Probably not enough weight to really see how the new suspension is doing but haha, that lil trailer...did you like backing it up? lil squirrely trailers are always "fun". How'd it do?

You totally have me figured out. #suburbanmiddleagedwhiteguy

Yeah, she’s a squirrelly thing. It was a pull-through site, though. So I have that going for me.

When do I get to see photos of yours? Your profile is “restricted”.

I need to get a build page going. there are a lot of things on the horizon that are actually worth posting...
https://www.independentoffroading.com/index.php?threads/roast-my-truck.533/#post-52651 garage crawler as it sits now, but has more shit slapped on. Im in the middle of doing the backseat platform. New front end, cvs, steering rack, electrical, drivetrain strengthing in prep for a crawler box setup. this truck gonna go places.

Sounds like a cool project that challenges every skill you can muster. Looking forward to checking it out.

I thought that this swing-up license plate thing was going to be a good idea, but it’s not really. I had to trim my plate so it would swing up without hitting, and even then it only goes up so far before stopping. A pull out of a hole is going to rip off the plate or damage the rope. Reckon I’m just gonna zip tie it to the grill unless you think it’ll cause airflow problems. Otherwise I’ll have to find a different bracket that mounts/swings farther. Not a particularly smart design. I’m kinda surprised considering how smartly designed the other products are.

yep, bought one and went to install and had the same mindset. how is this NOT going to get thrashed on the first use or maybe even caught in the line if i was looking at the other end.

Drill a couple new holes and mount it to the side if you *have* to have a front plate. Shit you can't even see my plate on the demello bumper because of the angle but it's there.

and if you are worried about scratches as any good mall crawler should, the silicone license plate frames are awesome. put one on the wife's new blue beauty after using them for the truck

I have a black-painted stainless one that was on there previously, but it makes the plate even larger, which is even less awesome for the tippy thing. I got it because the car wash bends up the license plate. Can't have that. That double angle thing you have going on there looks like a good idea to help guard against that, too.

The problem with that design is the requirement to have a license plate in the front. (because it's really important to get the license plate before he runs you over).
How much do put in your Costco shopping cart that you need to winch to unload it. :boink:
