Oh, I misunderstood about the knock. I thought you meant it was coming from the engine, on top of your drivetrain issues.
Just get square driveshafts and the clanking will drown out any other noises.
No worries, I wrote most of this build thread while pooping on the company dime. I wasn't that clear in my posts.
Didn't plan on doing the rear square yet, just the front. I've had it 3 weeks and I'm a real stickler for a budget and plan. Its not on a spreadsheet yet, but soon will be.
The way things are starting to look is that Im probably keeping my 2nd gen and use it to tow this pig. Unless I really can get what I want for the 2nd gen money wise.
The thought is go aluminum on the trailer. You can get a 1500lb trailer on dual axles capable of towing this truck for under $5000.
If this is the plan, it changes the build. I no longer need to register it and drive it to the trail as I first intended.
I will however probably need to lose the shackle flip for the inverted hangers and a better leaf pack on the 2nd gen. It's setup for droop now, not towing.
Planning. Decisions.
I just want to take the damn thing out already.
