The cylinder walls were smooth as can be. I don't have before shot of the top of the heads but they looked like 40,000 miles not 400,000! Mobile 1 has been worth it all these years. I left the bottom end alone because it has never used oil, never smoked, and it doesn't leak from either the oil pan or the front or rear seals. If I ever need to do rod bearings etc then the heads will be ready. IMO I would never recommend a "JDM" used motor versus rebuilding one of these.

Last thought on my truck. I continue to be amazed at the lifespan of the parts. 400k+ on the original wheel bearings and coolant hoses (they are still fine). Hell, I replaced the front brake pads the first time at 180,000 miles. In the 1990's I was replacing bad wheel bearings on 3 year old Honda's and coolant lines on 40,000 miles Fords.
