At that time it had 340,000 miles on it. Here is the maintenance done from new until then.
Front brake pads and rotors twice
Rear brake shoes once.
Clutch twice. Teenage daughter claimed the first one
Clutch the second time turned out to be a broken clutch fork but I changed it anyway
Pictured is my 5th set of Bridgestone REVO AT's
Timing belt twice
Water pump once.
Power antenna mast twice.
3 or 4 batteries
45 or so oil changes with Mobile 1
1 fuel pump (the only official break down ever)
Rear shocks at 200k
Also around 120k Toyota did the head gasket recall and the rear bump stop recall.
I bought some Trail wheels with tires as well.Pre Lift.jpg

In October of 2016 I finally replaced the stock suspension. Went with the Sonoran Steel 1.2 kit with the LC rear coils and shocks. At the time i used their panhard bar but later installed the PCK. These were the original front shocks and both of them were still in working order!Stk Shock 360k.jpgSS 1.2 Kit.jpg

Around the same time my very good neighbor eimkeith was building his only 2 roof racks. He ended up selling his before it was done but we did finish mine. Fab1.jpgTest1.jpgTest2.jpgZUF2.jpg

In October of 2017 I installed the SPC upper control arms, Spidertrax, and 285/70/17 Firestone MT2's. I cannot say enough about how much I love these tires. (2 years and 45,000 miles later they are still not noisy or cupped and have 30% tread left.SPC.jpgcoward.jpg

In February of 2018 I had a thing happen. On the highway something went wrong and I had noticeable power loss. A compression test revealed a weak cylinder. I did not have any coolant loss or overheating so I wasn't sure what I would find. Turns out after 374,674 miles the carbon build up caused a burned valve. Can you see it?

So I pulled the heads and had them reworked. Replaced the al the gaskets and what not. Did the timing belt and water pump while I was in there as well. Motor1.jpgErgonomics.pngParts1.jpg

I left the bottom end alone. It started on the first try and have put 30,000 miles on it without issue. In fact, it runs better than ever and still to this day it does not burn oil. Oh, leaning across the radiator I managed to cause the top tank to leak so I replaced it a few weeks later. It was original.

After all of that I got the PCK installed. Funny thing is, I bought one of the first ones eimkeith made. Just never got around to making him install it for me. Here are some pics of that happening.

I did the Tundra Brake Upgrade, replaced the front axles, and the rear u-joint shortly after that as well. I will say that the PCK made a big difference in how the truck drives. Any 4 link rear suspension is going behave differently when you lift a vehicle. And adding these brackets really calmed things down. For reference I run only a rear sway bar. I could talk for days about saggitta and rear steer etc. Hit me up if you have any questions.

Installed the 99+ center console and the BH3D rear cup holders at some point. Also did the LED interior lights. Cup Holder.jpgLED's.jpg Very useful additions for me.

Did a weekend trip to the Wilson Creek area and went to Brown Mountain Off Road Park. Boys and girls had fun!

That weekend my buddy was camping in his Tundra and I decided a needed to move from ground camping to a RTT... Scored this old one for $420 on CL and it works perfectly. Nothing says Overland AF as an RTT that literally says Overland on it, in big letters. Right?

Recently bought my next adventure vehicle. My son will inherit the 4Runner in 4 years when he turns 16. Until then the wife drives it.

Flex test for clearance-ing purposes at THE eimkeith R&D Center. I have spoken for a rear bumper. Since I balked (at first) on doing a body lift I get to wait until he gets that version done.

That intake valve was on its way to becoming a pac man. How much ring lip did the cylinders have? My son's 2000 pre runner had 290k when we did the valve job and the cylinder wall was smooth all the way up to the top. Also nice money shot.
