You are welcome. Simply put my father and grandfather taught me that a mans worth is not in his bank account but what he can accomplish with his hands. Keep doing what you are doing and the bank account will take care of it's self.

You might want to consider changing that to "his hands and brains". It's important to critically think your way out of problems more so.

Lol. My Gramps is dead and my dad is too old to learn new tricks. Your hands don't do it by themselves. Everything thing they do is thought out before hand. Even when you pick that booger with your pinky.

See what I did there.

Every time you pick a boogie you'll think of me.

This is absolutely badass. This is where I see a piece of metal cut the same way probably 20 times to make the center part of the housing and two straight tubes. ( to a trillion percent oversimplify things ) Essentially that's what were looking at. This is basically the exact design i would be looking to replicate

Do some more research. The center of the housing is one solid piece of 1/4 in bent and snapped and then the faceplate is a separate piece out of 3/8 or seomtjing. Plus it has tons of internal gussets. DIYoffroad has cut files for a housing but is just a little less than buying a complete housing and doesn’t include the steel. Making the outside shape is easy (in a way still time consuming), it’s fitting all the internal gussets to take being smashed on rocks and not have the tubes ripped from the middle section. Making it is half the battle. Keeping it straight and from warping is the hardest part.

I’d like to call myself a decent garage fabricator and would much rather do things myself then buy them, but without a lathe to turn down spindles and mill to do the face, housings will be something I continue to buy. (Hopefully I only buy another 9 in front to match the rear). Plus 3 1/2x3/8 dom at 60 in wide isn’t cheap.

Not gonna lie, I'd love to make shit like this:

That's a D80 center section with tractor running gear. Fuck a Rockwell. Guy I know who does tractor pulling with his trucks has that in the shop for a customer.

But that's just way beyond what I can do right now.
So if be buying an axle too, instead of making it like those guys.

Side note: tractor pullers make some fucking crazy stuff. Those guys are insane.
