What I’ve done in the past on other vehicles (not saying it is correct) let it idle and spray the hoses with carb cleaner. If you have a leak you’ll hear a change in idle.

What happens when you push the skinny pedal down? Any hesitation?

Not that I can tell. She revs up pretty easily. Would be a lot easier if I was throwing codes. It doesn't feel like a misfire and it's never overheated. I can't remember last time I changed plugs, although I don't put that many miles per year on it.

How long have you run it after the battery change? It may be trying to relearn the perimeters from sitting with a dead battery.

Also after I cleaned my intake and throttle body, the truck idled rough for a bit.

When I first swapped the battery I let it sit and relearn idle. I also put a little over 100 miles on it and it drove fine for the most part. I've got a vibration somewhere between 60-70mph, but we checked for play in my front bearings and there wasn't any. Thinking flat spots in my tires or I need my tires balanced. I don't think it's related to the engine stutter.

I'm thinking I'll just do an oil change along with spark plug and coil pack change. I really haven't done any trips since last November to death valley. After that I swapped my steering rack and it's pretty much sat since.

Did some stuff. Swapped spark plugs and cleaned the throttle body. What a fucking mess. I feel like I'm probably going to have to pull my entire intake and clean it out at some point.

My first start up after that clean up was like 2.5k and holding so I had to pull my negative and reset the computer. Idling pretty good since.

Next up. Putting the tires back on and cycling to see what needs to be cut with the 1.5" spacers and getting someone to weld on limit strap tabs. But this weather still sucks balls.

full washer kit. that is cool.

Yeah it's plug and play basically. I'm gonna tuck it into my front bumper and run the hoses to the stock ones. Should plug right in to the harness and then it's good.

Edit: the one I have is specific to the 4th gen. The one I linked was just an example.

Great find.

I've mocked it up, the one I have actually sits perfect right inside my demello bumper away from the winch. Most people relocate them next to the power steering resi but my switchpro module is sitting right there and the house battery takes up the rest of the real estate on the passenger side.

Damned near 2 years since the last time this pile of shit has been out. Lotta life changes and financial shit, blah blah blah. Time to get her rolling again.

To do list:

Front wheel bearings (ordered)

Pulleys and belt. Bought these before I needed them so just need to do the swap.

Main battery - technically my main battery is in the Tacoma. The one I bought for the Tacoma less than a year ago has been sitting in the runner and it's now toast. Going to Costco tomorrow to get it replaced under warranty then I'll put my Northstar back in the runner.

House battery - this one is gonna hurt. Out of warranty and with the amount of weather we had last year either there wasn't enough sun or my solar controller failed. Either way dead battery and I'll have to look at my solar controller.

Probably need to get my tires rebalanced. It's been sitting but I've moved it and kept the air up so hopefully any flat spots work themselves out.

Before she went down I did a front end bolt check and greasing, but I'll recheck everything in the front. Rear needs grease and bolt checks on arms and panhard.

Alternator swap. I've had a 240a HO alt for the past 5 years. Dirt, mud, water, etc I'm pretty sure it needs a rebuild. So I'll throw my stock alt back in for the time being.

Think that's about it. I did steering rack, steering fluid flush, and tie rods before I didn't have time or money to work on things. My rear window won't go down, but that's not a priority.

Oh spider extermination before I do anything. She's been sitting so long I'm afraid to work on it. Haha. Long story short, I can't do spiders, and there's a lot of widow webs all over. So once I swap the batteries in I'll be doing weekly power washes to push these bitches out of the nooks and crannies.

Alright apparently I have a bigger issue. Two different batteries, both drop to 6v on crank, starter makes a quick click right before, and then the batteries stay around 6.4v without recovering unless I put them on a charger.

Shits weird. Couple months ago I started it no problem to move it back to clear some weeds. Two weeks after that, this problem started. Initially thought maybe the battery was just dead so I ignored it. Potentially still a dead battery issue, but the one I tried today has been running my Tacoma for the past year.

I do have a brand new battery I just picked up today for the Tacoma, but I'm hesitant to try it. Debating pulling all my dual battery cables (house battery is dead, but they shouldnt be trying to connect since I have it on a switch, which is off) and anything else after market before trying again. Seriously need to despider the engine bay though, it's bad.

It *instantly* pulls it from 13.7 to 6?

12.5, it wouldn't be 13.7 unless it was actually running. Turn key, click, 6v. Two dead batteries? I don't buy it. Especially when I've been driving around on one in the taco.

Starter, ground short, or rat got into my engine bay. I need to get it charged back up and just turn the key on, see if I'm getting locks, windows, and stereo.

Pull the starter and get it tested. My sons taco was having random starting issues (not wanting to start just a click click). He would jump it and it would start. Would work fine for a few and then again. It turned out to be a bad starter. No issues after replacing it.

I can't even jump it, but yeah I'll have to despider and get in there. Big ass nasty web all over that side of the motor and that's a lot of blind feeling to get those bolts out. Whole lotta nope from me.
