Time to dig in on centering my axle. I'm thinking since the new mounts sit lower on the frame compared to stock location we moved them down just enough that stock length arms no longer put me in the right spot. Shouldn't take too much adjustment to get them right. I'm going to start with stock length (compared to a stock link I have in the garage) and rotate the heims equally on both sides to start. Then I'll adjust until both sides are equal and lined up with my bumps.

Bushing in the lower arms were shot. Good thing I had these uppers that never worked right so I swapped those in. Definitely becoming more of a fixit thread than build thread at this point.

So now you've got 2 undriveable vehicles in the driveway? Are you from West Virginia by chance? lol

Trying to beat it into shape but that's not working. Got another 2 hours of sunlight I haven't given up yet. Problem is, even if I get a new mount solution I still have to drive it to get welded.

And now I'm done. Stripped the bolt hole for the lower mount. Time to start scouring junk yards for an axle unless I can get someone to bring a welder over. Fuck all this.

Shit. Did you strip the threads in the mount or the threads on the bolt? If you got the shock on far enough to try and use the bolt to suck it all the way on there's a chance you only boogered some of the thread. As long as there's 3 full turn on good thread that's considered full engagement. Post up a photo of the bolt itself.

Bolts fine, when it caught it started going in sideways and fucked up the inside threads. Popped the shock off and tried the bolt and it won't go in straight. More hassle than it's worth at this point, I'm just going to fuck up the bushing on the shock. eBay has a couple axles with 3rd for 600ish, I'll call around the junk yards and see if I can find one without a 3rd.

Fortunately I've got 3 vacation days left this year, so if I have to run to the border again for the axle I can. I don't need shafts or a 3rd, although a spare 3rd couldn't hurt.

@AssBurns think I should throw my stock panhard back in for the time being since my aftermarket one is bent?
Might as well
I may try heating it up and bending it back some. I'm not going to try terribly hard but if it helps the bushings last a little longer it's worth the try.
Sounds like I’m late. You should be hammering that thing back with the bolt in for the exact reason you found out haha
