Parts you can buy from the auto parts store is extremely convenient
That’s basically planning for frequent parts failures. Might as well just go buy a Jeep

Here's a few more words about these.
To put is simply they fit perfectly. Here's a few shots pre-weld.
I did the prep work on them so @AssBurns could just weld them up. My mounts where a bit beat up on the bottom. Once I beat and ground my mounts back to closer to factory @eimkeith reinforcements slipped right on with a few small taps from a hammer. Once the bolt is lined up and put through they rotate right up in place. The tolerances are super tight and nothing else needed to be done except the welding.
A guy over on t4r.org questioned whether the gas tank would have to be dropped to weld these on. The answer is it does not. We simply dropped the gas tank skid. With that out of the way I was able to clean the frame on the tank side with a dremel. When Steven was ready to weld I used a pry bar to push the tank over 1/2" or so to give him enough room to get a bead on that side.
Once the welding was done the bolt went back in and the nut was able to be a few turn on it. Tightened it up with an impact and the factory bolt still has full engagement. I'd say @eimkeith nailed it with this one. Nice job man.
Man the califab LLM are beefy. Cutting I can do but I don't think that my craftman professional welder can handle that weld. 170amp at best. Do you think that the Total Chaos mount skids would help from buckling the stock skids. They also need to be welded but not cutting off the OEM mount.Start thinking about the califab lower link mounts too. I destroyed mine pretty quickly.
I forsee a long shop weekend with everything that is piling up.
@AssBurns - want to head up to Bend and weld mine up?

I think the sending unit is already going out. It’s been working intermittently lately, and when it does work, it doesn’t read correctly. The problem is it’s a ford part. That’s basically planning for frequent parts failures. Might as well just go buy a Jeep

Yeah the skids would probably help. I twisted both mounts so anything that reinforces should help.
Problem is that the 4th gen mount is basically tinfoil. You'd need to reinforce it on the sides vs just welding on to it like the pck. Otherwise you're just going to twist it like I did to mine.

Then I will wait for you to come up with a proper solution so that the you can get my money. When I do my lift and suspension in a month or so I will be getting the PCK and bucket kit. Hopefully you have this figured out and in stock for the 4th gen. On the to do list is a front /rear bumper and low pro roofrack.
I’m not sure those TC skids for the 4th gen would be any better than the Lotus version for the 3rd gen, as far as resisting deformation of the Link Mount from running beefy stock length links.
The problem I see is that there’s nothing tying them into the frame - they still rely on the strength of the factory mount, unless I’m missing something there?
My 3rd gen LLS ties the pivot bolt directly to the frame itself, and has enough girth & length to resist the twisting force applied by the link angles when the axle is articulated.
That said, I need to take a good look at the 4th gen mounts; they look like they’d be simpler to armor & reinforce than the 3rd gen, and I feel pretty good about that solution (and apparently the pricing, after seeing what the TC skids cost.)

Test fitting today - spent yesterday getting an ‘85 pickup roller to donate parts for my wife’s first gen 4Runner.How did they fit Keith?
These are a go, getting them up on the website this evening.

There’s some minor trimming needed which I’ll correct on the next run, so I’m discounting the first 25 sets 25%.
And I cover the shipping in the CONUS, as usual.
- and they're up. eimkeith.com/buystuff/lls
Any ETA on the steering rack support for the 3rd Gen 4Runner? Not that your busy at all but it's on the must do my Wednesday list isn't it? lol
I've gotta:
1: Fix the 3rd Gen steering rack issue so I don't leave Matt or Steven fucking stranded
figure out what's taking so long on @4runner DOA s shock mount reinforcments, sort out these recovery point vendors so I can launch the 3rd gen rear bumper, get the LCA reinforcements going (lots of requests for those on the website)
- so it's actually close!
well don't wheel for the next 2 weeks - I'm in an inner tube in a river by a little old cabin in the mountains the week of the 4th.
