The unfinished front bumper. Main aim was to cut down on my approach angle. Factory front crossmember was cut out and replaced with a new one in between the front frame rails. Winch plate is welded to two pieces of 2" square tube that slides into the frame rails. Front skid basically lines up with the bottom of the bumper. Don't hit the front nearly as hard as I used to

I like that take on the bumper.

Change of pace:

I built this ugly shit for a customer. He drew it and was happy with it when it was done. He said he was going to mount a winch but it mounted to the brush guard that was about 12 inches from the frame and using only 3/16 plate. no bracing. You could literally jerk the bush guard and move it.
I told him his mounting points wheren't strong enough but he thought they were ok.

I just hope he never really has to use the winch.

I just picture some hillbilly coming in and thinking his Ford is so badass that he needs to write “Ford” on the winch mount that sticks out like a sore thumb

IKR. I built it and knew it was going to look like shit and it did. I wish I would have gotten a side shot. I bet his approach angle was like 5 degrees.

And WTF he was happy with it. It was what he wanted.

I did tell him never pull to the side with it
