We’re not Calguns, I’m not a lawyer. I’m just an enthusiast that learned to shoot 35+ years ago. Got a hunting license when I was a kid, got merit badges, stopped for a long time and then picked it back up again after inheriting a bunch of classic firearms. Bought some modern pistols and sporting rifles and now I’m introducing my family to one of my favorite past times.

So share, brag, ask questions and above all keep an open mind because a shooter that doesn’t respect the firearm/range officer/general safety rules is the dangerous shooter I don’t want to be around.

... I’m one for covering the major calibers and platforms and group things into utility and collectors. For utility I think I should get a 40 cal pistol and an AK for SHTF reasons.

For collectors I want a 226 scorpion, colt SAA, M1 Garand, .338 lapua, and maybe a 300 weatherby mag.

I had different calibers. Consolidation was the best thing I did. But I will probably be using the 20 gauge most often now that I discovered the shotgun range in Redlands has beer and is very close to Hanger 24 for more beer after shooting clays.

I just found out that only certain Wal-Marts sell ammo now. I was so fucking pissed off for wasting my time, but I was unable to be mad about it. Just shake my head and thank the CA liberals for saving the world one bullet at a time.

On the plus side, the Wal-Mart that does have ammo is fucking stocked the fuck up with affordable prices right now. I am now gonna start buying at least one 200 pack of 9mm every paycheck so it can add up over time, before the next inevitable run on ammo begins.

I've been buying the 350 bricks of steel case 9mm for like 25 bucks. I shoot more in the desert than the range so it works out and it doesn't matter what I'm shooting if I gotta put a hole in someone in self defense.

CZ's are commie guns, so shooting steel out of them should be fine. But I have a really had habit of taking weeks to finally getting around to cleaning my guns, and the shit they use in steel cased ammo can expedite the rust process.

IDK that I can ever trust steel cased ammo with my life in self defense. I have experienced more bad primers with steel than with brass and would rather stick with some good Hornady hollow points. Aluminum is a good, cheaper, option though.

Haven't had any issues shooting this Winchester steel case through my XD. I always have 2 magazines full of hollow points for home/camp defense with 1 of steel for backup. If I didn't get them within the first 20 I might as well be dead anyway. Hahaha.

That reminds me, I'm due for a cleaning. Got about 1000 rounds through it right now.

I have an LWRC AR15, so not cleaning it is not a big deal. It will still work. Same thing with my shotgun, Benelli Montefeltro. The chambers in both those guns do not take any gas.

I've got about 2000 rounds of this dirty fucking aguila ammo through my .22 it's definitely due too. Had to oil the shit out of it to keep it from jamming.
