It will serve a purpose for sure & the price is right. What I've found is most of the fold up benches are wobbly and are to short to lay the rifle out properly and use a rear squeeze bag for precise shooting. Again it'll serve a purpose.

Ok so will have 3 AR parts kits here on Thursday, one in 7.62X51 and two in the Wylde. Won 3 weapons on the draw a ticket a Savage in 7mm08 an H&R .410 and a Ruger .22 lr. IT was a kick now looking for furniture for the 3 AR platforms :) These would be the first AR's we have owned.

Grips and buttstocks? Magpul is a de facto standard at this point, I’m partial to Daniel Defense grips and buttstocks. There’s tons of choices out there

Grips, buttstock, fore pieces
For your handguards are you looking for free-float with rails or m-lok? What length are you looking for? Do you have a low profile gas block and how big are your hands?

Aero precision makes some nice handguards that aren’t huge in diameter (the Atlas line) and work better for smaller hands. Also realize that the weight can add up quickly

Ok, if you’re going to go with Aero then it sounds like their enhanced and quantum handguards would be best. Don’t get anything keymod and don’t get the enhanced quad rail flavor.

Current trend is to get the longest handguard you can. I put 15” handguards on both rifles because I want the sling mount and front iron sight as far forward as possible. This does increase weight tho

It’s not just weight slung onto your back, the balance of the rifle matters when it’s got a lot of weight forward. Throw in a nice full (30 round) magazine and other BS that ARs can end up with (flashlights etc) and it begins to get heavy fast

Super cool! Damn this is going to be hard building this thing.
You end up with extra parts and then feel guilty and buy another receiver to use said parts

And then a few years go by and certain things become no longer in vogue so you change out some thing and then end up with more extra parts

And then you start getting into the SOPMOD game or wanting a retro rifle....

It is the bring to target in a concise fashion, so yes 100% balance is a huge factor as in with a blade. So we will have one AR10 and 2 of the 15 variety now, then it will lead to 3 or 4 more :/ I want compound level armaments :)
