I was thinking for the AR. Just seemed like a good deal but lasers are gay IMO. I'll probably pass on it because I don't want a laser. Plus I need to get a handguard that can actually take some attachments.

Speaking of that... I need to get a new handguard, and gas block. I was thinking Aero Precision stuff, but open to suggestions. What do you guys recommend? M-Lok seems to be the most popular accessory option. Just not sure which one to go with. There are quite few different options out there.

I think im going to go with BCM rail on my next build

I have key mod on a few of mine I don’t mind so much. I get the adapters for rail hook ups for attachments.

Betamax/VHS. Keymod still works just don’t expect much support for it as time goes on (and the reality is, how much shit are you trying to attach anyways?!?!?)

M-lok is the best option at this point. Keymod is dead and quad rails are heavy. Aside from that how long of handguard do you want, also do you want a thinner one or one with more girth?
Yeah definitely going M-Lok. For length, I guess I should measure, but I don't want a super long one, or a super short one. Mid length pretty much. I think the one I have now is like 12" so I will probably get something close to that.
As for girth? I really don't know. I'm pretty used to little to no girth myself.... but not sure if that applies to handguards too lol
I've got the aero on mine. You should have shot it while we were out last time.
I should have. Idk but I didn't even think about trying your gun. Now I kick myself for not even picking it up. Got a pic of yours?
Larue makes a very affordable hand guard if you don't need the look of a continuous rail which is really never needed.
SLR's look the best IMO but are pricey.
SLR adjustable gas blocks work very well too.
They usually have sales on holidays.
Aero's are also pretty nice!
Yeah those SLR parts are PRICEY! They look pretty good, but I don't think I am boujie enough to spend that kind of money lol

So next question. Full length upper rail or ultra-light rail with rails in only the front and back of the hand guard. I don't really see a need for full length, but is there something I would regret by not going full length?

I personally like the full length top rail.

If i was building an upper now I would go with the 15" BCM rail regardless if I decided on a 14.5 barrel with pinned muzzle device or a 16" barrel.

Also looking at the weight difference between the Aero and BCM the BCM is actually lighter even with the full length top rail.

This is based on the 15" length handguard.

Aero Rail + Mounting hardware = 12.67oz

Best I have on the phone without pulling it from the safe. I can grab more later if you want more detail. Recently attached a sling to it.
